Abstract: An improved mold is provided having an abrasion-resistant reinforcing means disposed at the junction between the mold and a rotating means for resisting wear occurring therebetween as a result of the installation of the mold on a rotating wheel. Preferably, the reinforcing means comprises a hardened plastic ring having a smooth surface facing the drive wheel, and the ring is partially embedded into the mold to attach it to said mold.
