  • Patent number: 7724516
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for thermal conditioning equipment. In a preferred embodiment, an equipment enclosure comprises a body, a wall, a fluid port, and a fixture. The body defines an outer plenum and an inner chamber in the latter of which the fixture retains the equipment. The wall, which is between the outer plenum and the inner chamber, isolates the thermally conditioned first fluid from a second fluid in the inner chamber. Since the wall is thermally conductive it allows heat to be transferred between the outer plenum and the inner chamber. The fluid port is in communication with the outer plenum to allow the thermally conditioned first fluid to flow into the outer plenum. Baffle plates are also provided to distribute flow of the second fluid to the equipment.

  • Patent number: 4960294
Abstract: A mud flap supporting assembly is provided that allows pivotal movement of mounting arm and mud flap about both the vertical and horizontal axes adjacent to the vehicle to which the arm is attached. A spring connected between the base plate and the end cap of the mounting arm holds the arm in the usual position parallel to the vehicle axle. Should the arm be pushed out of position by an obstruction making contact with the arm, the arm will automatically return to its usual position when the obstruction is passed. Upon return, the base plate's raised portion embeds itself into the exact duplicate negative opening of the mounting arm, and returns the arm precisely to center.

  • Patent number: 4352502
Abstract: A mud-flap supporting assembly for mounting a mud-flap on a vehicle including a horizontally disposed arm with a mud-flap attached to it. The arm is mounted for pivotal movement about a vertical pin, and a coil compression spring is provided operatively connected between the arm and an arm portion which is moveable with respect to the arm, for centering the arm so that it is normally in a first position but may pivot against the bias of the spring about the vertical pin out of the first position and will be returned automatically by the spring to the first position. The arm portion includes a first portion fixed to the arm, and a second portion slidably moveable with respect to the first portion, and guided by the first portion, the first portion being deformed to provide a stop to provide the limit of travel of the second arm portion.

  • Patent number: 4189165
Abstract: A mud-flap supporting assembly is provided that allows pivotal movement of a mud flap mounting arm about a vertical axis adjacent to the vehicle to which the arm is mounted, but prevents movement of the arm in a vertical direction. A vertical pin passes through an arm portion and a support portion to define the vertical axis about which the mounting arm is pivoted, and a spring is operatively connected between the arm and arm portion for centering the arm so that it is normally in intermediate position but may pivot against the spring bias about the vertical axis out of the intermediate position yet will be automatically returned by the spring to the intermediate position. The arm may be mounted so that it is horizontally movable with respect to the arm portion; or the arm and arm portion may be fixed together and a pair of pivotal levers mounted to the arm portion which are engaged by the spring.
