  • Publication number: 20120121357
Abstract: A trailer wall hook is provided as a single unit that includes a U-shaped hook with a rounded or square base. The U-shaped hook includes an open eye-loop and j-hook support brackets. The open eye-loop is attached to the top front of the U-shaped hook and two smaller j-hooks are attached upside down on the rear of the U-shaped hook. The j-hooks provide for mounting the trailer wall hook on a cargo control or tie-down system on the inside wall of a trailer. The trailer wall hook provides for loading and supporting linear shaped or irregular shaped freight onto the wall.

  • Patent number: 6571447
Abstract: In an apparatus for connecting tubular members together by cold forging a plurality of rollers are carried on a shaft which includes a tapered portion cooperating with the rollers to force the rollers radially outwardly to forge the tubular member into the end portion of a surrounding tubular member. The forging apparatus is provided with a gear mechanism which incrementally rotates the rollers upon completion of each reciprocal pass so that substantially all of the internal surface of the tubular member is contacted by the rollers to forge the tubular member into the end portion of the surrounding tubular member.

  • Patent number: 5868524
Abstract: A clamp system and method used to remotely connect or disconnect a submerged pipeline from another submerged pipeline or from a riser line or the like. When used with a riser line, the riser line end of the connector carries calipers that pivot open to receive or release the pipeline connection end. The mating connector end sections are radially enlarged and are provided with annular grooves that are in register when the sections are abutted to house an annular, hollow metal seal ring. With the calipers closed and securing the two connection end sections, a locking collar is moved over the free end of the calipers, and the seal ring is energized by applying high pressure fluid into the seal ring, causing the ring to expand and seal the mating connector ends, restrict lateral movement between the ends, and stress the connection to maintain the clamp.

  • Patent number: 4676531
Abstract: For use with a pipe having an outer surface, a clamping structure is set forth. In the preferred and illustrated embodiment, the device utilizes a surrounding ring of solid construction having a central passage fitting over the pipe in question. An internal groove is formed in the ring. An encircling clamp means is placed in the groove which has an exposed or outer face confronting the pipe. The clamp means is fabricated with the outer face supported on a pair of spaced sidewalls which are corrugated along their length. On application of pressure to the interior of the ring, the corrugations are straightened, driving the outer face into the pipe and thereby clamping.

  • Patent number: 4516880
Abstract: A trenching machine for digging a trench beneath a pipeline lying on the floor of a body of water, with a pair of laterally spaced vertical cutting members, shown to be a series of water jets, positioned at each end of the machine. The cutting members are laterally adjustable to move apart and tilt with respect to the vertical centerline of the machine. The cutting members are also arranged to oscillate about a vertical axis. Fore and aft side rollers are longitudinally spaced under the framework of the machine and are arranged to contact the pipeline to drive the machine along the pipeline and to stabilize the machine in its upright operating position over the pipeline. The rollers have selectively adjustable hydraulic biasing cylinders associated with each set of rollers to maintain a constant gripping force between the rollers and pipeline. The rollers are selectively reversibly driven to provide back and forth operation of the trenching machine.

  • Patent number: 4291559
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and method for making a sheave by forming an external annular radial groove in the periphery of a circular workpiece. The apparatus includes a support for supporting the workpiece for rotation about its own axis. At least one groove-forming tool having a working surface for extending radially into the periphery of the workpiece is carried by a tool guide adjacent the support for movement past the workpiece in a path such that the outer extremity of the working surface passes generally tangentially to the locus of the bottom of the groove to be formed. A tool drive assembly is provided for moving the tool in such path. A pair of drive rollers are mounted on the support for rotation about respective axes disposed angularly with respect to the axis of the workpiece and having respective opposed drive surfaces for engagement with opposite sides of the workpiece distal its axis.

  • Patent number: 4022028
Abstract: Submarine pipe trenching apparatus for digging a trench below submarine pipelines, wherein a pair of trench cutter assemblies are mounted for digging themselves into the ground from a substantially horizontal position alongside the pipe to an upright position below the pipe, and wherein a crawler assembly is mounted on the pipe for moving the cutter assemblies along and below the pipe when the cutter assemblies are operated for digging out the soil below the pipe. The crawler assembly is constructed so that the lateral bends and vertical undulations in the pipe are detected and means are provided for stabilizing and re-positioning the cutter assemblies as necessary to maintain them in their upright cutting position below the pipe regardless of such bends and undulations. The cutter assembly may have rotating blades or jets for the cutting action, with each cutter assembly disposed at a trailing angle to provide clearance between the bottom and each cutter assembly.
