  • Patent number: 4718184
Abstract: A frame formed by frame sections joined end to end; each frame section having an elongated channel with a rear wall, spaced apart lips opposite the rear wall and defining a longitudinally directed slot and a side wall joining inner edges of each of the lips to a different edge of the rear wall. Securing adjacent pairs of the sections is a bracket having a pair of legs disposed at an angle substantially identical to the angle made by the frame sections, the legs fitting within the channels of said frame sections at their corner junction and having a width greater than the width of the slots so as to retain the bracket within the channels. A screw with an externally threaded shank is received by a threaded hole in each bracket leg.

  • Patent number: 4689906
Abstract: A structure for displaying articles on vertical surfaces. Included in the structure is a frame assembly for retaining the display article and a pair of frame hangers retained by the frame assembly and adapted to receive the ends of a supporting strand. The frame assembly comprises a plurality of joined elongated frame sections; each frame section comprising a longitudinally extending channel defined by a rear wall, a pair of side walls joined to the rear wall, and a pair of front wall lips each having one edge joined to a different one of the side walls and opposite edges spaced apart by a slot that opens into the channel.

  • Patent number: 4571866
Abstract: The invention is an apparatus for mounting a display item on a vertical support surface and includes a frame assembly with elongated side members each having one end joined with a different end of an elongated top member and an opposite end joined with a different end of an elongated bottom member, the members forming a rectangular enclosure for retaining a peripheral edge of the display item. Disposed on the rear surface of the frame assembly is a retainer that retains a mounting member movable along a path substantially parallel to the elongated top member. The mounting member is adapted to removably engage and be supported by an appendage fixed to the support surface.

  • Patent number: 4547986
Abstract: A frame system including a plurality of elongated frame members joined end to end to enclose a display area and each having an inwardly projecting wall portion for bordering a perimeter of a display piece and a rearwardly projecting, inwardly opening channel having transverse lips spaced apart by an inwardly facing slot. Joining the ends of each pair of contiguous frame members is a unitary bracket having leg portions disposed at an angle corresponding to the angle between the contiguous members and retained by the channels therein. Each of the leg portions comprises a guide surface defining retainer cavity juxtaposed to one of the slots and retaining a locking cam for securing the frame sections.

  • Patent number: 4499679
Abstract: A frame body for retaining a display article and having a rear surface that can be releasably secured to a support surface. Included in the invention is a releasable latch mechanism for attaching the rear surface to the support surface and movable between a locked position preventing removal of the frame body from the support surface and a release position allowing removal thereof. The latch mechanism comprises a release disposed between and substantially concealed by the frame body and the support surface and operable to move the latch mechanism to the release position so as to allow removal of the frame body. Also included in the invention are a plurality of spaced apart catch brackets for mounting on the support surface and adapted to releasably engage the rear surface and to be completely retained within receptacles defined thereby.

  • Patent number: 4051748
Abstract: A rotary cutter type key cutting machine for duplicating keys in which the V-shaped notches that define the bitting are obliquely oriented both left and right. Identical vises mounted on a hinged carrier which swings about an axis parallel to that of the rotary cutter, grip the pattern key and the key blank and present the same respectively to a position-identifying stylus and the rotary cutter. The vises are rotatable in unison about their connections with the carrier, permitting them to be so oriented that as the carrier is swung towards the axis of the cutter, the bitted and about-to-be-bitted edges of the pattern key and the key blank are either parallel to the cutter axis or inclined with respect thereto in one direction or the other depending upon the direction the vises have been rotated.
