  • Patent number: 6619487
Abstract: A knife set includes a knife block having a plurality of knife-receiving slots, and a plurality of knives, corresponding in number to the plurality of knife-receiving slots. Each of the knives has a handle and a blade, with each blade having a sharpened edge. At least one of the knives, and a corresponding at least one of the knife-receiving slots, includes engaging structures that support the at least one knife in the corresponding at least one slot, preferably so that the sharpened edge is suspended within the slot out of contact with any portion of the knife block.

  • Patent number: 6375016
Abstract: A knife holder includes a knife holding block having a plurality of knife holding slots, each slot for receiving a knife therein. The knife holder also includes a knife locking mechanism that is movably engaged with the knife holding block. The knife holding mechanism is selectively movable to alternately: (a) simultaneously lock knives located in all of the knife holding slots so that the knives cannot be removed from any of the knife holding slots, and (b) simultaneously unlock knives located in all of the knife holding slots so that the knives can be removed from all of the knife holding slots.

  • Patent number: 5655672
Abstract: A slidable knife holder includes a knife holding block that includes a plurality of slots for holding a plurality of knives and a slidable mount so that the block is slidably mountable to a support structure such as, for example, a cabinet or counter. For example, the block can be slidably mounted under or in cabinets, over sinks, or under counters. According to a preferred embodiment, the knife holder holds the knives in a vertical arrangement (via one or more vertically extending lines of knife holding slots) such that the knife holder has a very small lateral dimension and occupies a very small volume that extends primarily in a vertical direction. The knife holding block slides in a horizontal direction so that the block moves between a retracted position and an extended position.

  • Patent number: 5522229
Abstract: A drain tube that can be used, for example, in an air cooling system, includes an inlet end for attachment to the drain pan of the air handler, and an outlet end for transporting liquid out of the drain pan. A liquid sensor probe is located at least partially in the drain tube, and includes a probe end that extends from the drain tube inlet end into the drain pan when attached to the drain pan. The liquid sensor probe detects the undesired accumulation of liquid in the drain pan caused by a blockage in the drain pan, in the drain tube, or in any other portion of the drainage tubing. A control circuit generates an output signal when excess liquid is present at the probe end of the liquid sensor so as to sound an alarm and/or turn off the air cooling device. The outlet end of the drain tube can be attached to a first leg of a cross-shaped fitting. The cross-shaped fitting includes a second leg opposite to the first leg through which a cleaning device can access the first leg, the drain tube, and the drain pan.

  • Patent number: 5069042
Abstract: A cleanable condensate trap usable with an air cooling system is disclosed. The condensate trap includes a U-shaped tube having first and second ends and a first T-shaped tube having first, second and third legs with the first leg being attached to the first end of the U-shaped tube. The second leg of the first T-shaped tube is connected to, for example, a drain tube which removes condensate from an air-handling portion of air cooling system. The third leg of the first T-shaped tube includes an opening whereby a cleaning device, such as brush, can be inserted into the U-shaped tube to remove material clogging the U-shaped tube. In order to detect a clogged condition of the U-shaped tube, the U-shaped tube can be made clear or transparent. Additionally, a switching device can be included in the third leg of the first T-shaped tube which can be operatively attached to a circuit which provides power to the air cooling system.

  • Patent number: 4907711
Abstract: A protective cover for electrical outlet boxes and the like which prevents the outlet box from being covered during installation of drywall and prevents entry of debris into the outlet box while permitting the interior of the outlet box to be readily accessible. The cover is provided with projections extending from the cover for indicating the location of the outlet box in the drywall, prior to being covered by the drywall while also providing a manner in which to mark reference points on the drywall for subsequent cutting. The cover can be of a reusuable form or can be integrally molded with the outlet box.

  • Patent number: 4747506
Abstract: An adjustable outlet box mounting assembly comprising an electrical oultet box slidably engaged with a mounting bracket adapted to be secured to a wall stud. The oultet box mounting assembly comprises an outlet box having an attaching portion provided on one side wall, a U-shaped mounting bracket having an attaching leg with means for slidably engaging the attaching portion of the outlet box, and stopping means for limiting the forward and rearward travel of the outlet box with respect to the mounting bracket. The slidable engagement between the outlet box and the mounting bracket in the outlet box mounting assembly of the invention permits the distance from the front edges of the outlet box to the wall stud carry the mounting bracket to be adjusted to accomodate various wall thicknesses.
