  • Publication number: 20130179414
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides for systems and/or methods for accessing and/or updating files by a first application in which the first application does not have direct accessibility to said file. In some embodiments, file host applications that are not directly accessible to said first application may be connected to through a file picker extensibility point that enable the first application to acquire files through an operating system user experience. In these various embodiments, the system may provide for one or more of the following functionalities: (1) refreshing content that is controlled by a file host application; (2) updating content that is controlled by a file host application; (3) exporting files from an application to a file host application; (4) a user interface for export operations and file host application intervention and (5) a file host extensibility point provided by the operating system.

  • Patent number: 8224097
Abstract: A method for extracting a 3D terrain model for identifying at least buildings and terrain from LIDAR data is disclosed, comprising the steps of generating a point cloud representing terrain and buildings mapped by LIDAR; classifying points in the point cloud, the point cloud having ground and non-ground points, the non-ground points representing buildings and clutter; segmenting the non-ground points into buildings and clutter; and calculating a fit between at least one building segment and at least one rectilinear structure, wherein the fit yields the rectilinear structure with the fewest number of vertices.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 12, 2008
Date of Patent: July 17, 2012
    Assignee: SRI International
Inventors: Bogdan Calin Mihai Matei, Supun Samarasekera, Janet Yonga Kim, Charles Fielding Finch Karney, Harpreet Singh Sawhney, Rakesh Kumar

  • Publication number: 20060226234
Abstract: Oral solid dosage forms such as tablets having overt, printed or etched markings as well as optional covert markings are disclosed. The markings can be rapidly identified to authenticate a dosage form and/or drug contained therein. The inventive dosage forms include a core portion having sufficiently low friability to receive a printed or etched marking on a surface thereof, and a readable or detectable printed or etched marking on the surface of the core which provides information allowing the identification/authentication of the oral dosage form. In preferred aspects of this embodiment, a bar code, more preferably, a 2D data matrix bar code is printed or etched on a debossed region on the surface of the solid dose form. Methods of preparing the marked dosage forms and methods of identifying and/or authenticating solid dosage forms are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6566693
Abstract: High-speed, low capacitance heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs) and a method for their fabrication are disclosed. The devices are fabricated by a manufacturable process which moves patterning and deposition of the base post up versus the current manufacturing process, thus permitting fabrication of a smaller base post and base metal contact and reducing the base-collector capacitance.

Date of Patent: May 20, 2003
    Assignee: HRL Laboratories, LLC
Inventors: Stephen Thomas, III, Charles Fields
