  • Publication number: 20070024592
Abstract: A touch sensor includes a touch pad; and a circuit configured to detect radiated energy from the touch pad. An impedance connected in series with the touch pad in the circuit, and the impedance selected to approximately match the impedance of a human finger in proximity to the touch pad. The sensor does not require floating power supplies and ground references, and does not rely upon a receiver in the circuit to detect radiated energy.

  • Publication number: 20070024591
Abstract: A touch controller for a touch sensitive control system having a control interface panel and a plurality of touch detecting elements is configured to accept a first number of input signals via corresponding input connections; monitor each of said touch detecting elements individually to detect user touch activation thereof; and output signals corresponding to detected touches, wherein a number of output signals is less than a number of touch detecting elements in the interface.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: February 1, 2007
    Inventor: Charles Fry
  • Publication number: 20060227115
Abstract: A touch sensitive control system for controlling a device includes a touch sensitive interface and a controller configured to communicate with the touch sensitive interface. The control system detects user manipulation of the touch sensitive interface with a touch detection sequence executed by the controller. The touch detection sequence determines a moving average of baseline signal level readings of the touch sensitive interface over time. The touch detection sequence compares a current baseline signal level reading to the moving average of baseline signal level readings, thereby detecting an interference event associated with an unexpectedly high current baseline signal level reading which could otherwise lead to a false touch detection.

  • Publication number: 20060221061
Abstract: A control system for controlling a device includes a touch sensitive interface. The control system also includes a controller configured to communicate with the touch sensitive interface and to detect user manipulation of the touch sensitive interface with a series of non-periodic test pulses and monitored responses thereto, thereby avoiding inaccurate touch detection attributable to synchronous noise in an ambient environment of the control system.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 31, 2005
    Publication date: October 5, 2006
    Inventor: Charles Fry
  • Publication number: 20060015284
Abstract: A touch sensitive control interface for a controlled device includes a panel defining an interface area configured to selectively input command instructions of an operator of the device. The panel has at least one primary touch portion configured to receive a true operator command, and a second touch sensor portion proximate the primary touch sensor portion configured to detect a false operator command due to a presence of a contaminant.

  • Publication number: 20020009419
Abstract: The invention relates to chewing gums containing dipeptide sweetener, both in a sugar-free and in a sugar-containing form, and other chewable products. Improved flavor, in terms of both quality and persistence, in particular in the case of products which also contain flavorings based on aldehydes, is achieved when the dipeptide sweetener is a sweetening salt of an aspartic-acid-derived dipeptide sweetener and a derivative of a sweetening acid. The particle size of the sweetening salt is preferably smaller than 200 &mgr;m, and the sweetening salt is preferably present in a quantity from 100 to 6000 ppm.

  • Patent number: 6132982
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of detecting the presence of a compound of interest (such as an enzyme), or the spatial distribution within a sample of a compound of interest. The method comprises the step of impregnating or coating a suitable base material with a marker substance capable of reacting or interacting with the compound of interest, the marker substance being labeled in a detectable manner (for example fluorescently, radioactively or being colored) and having a substantially different affinity for the base material than the product of the reaction or interaction thereof with the compound of interest.
