  • Patent number: 6513842
Abstract: A tamper indicating seal for doors or panels such as used on airborne shipping containers. The seal includes a housing mounted over an edge of a container door and having an opening for receiving a strap of an elongated shackle having a base portion engageable with a frame or other portion of the container. A locking cage is disposed within the opening and interlocks with the strap as the strap is pulled outwardly of the opening to thereby secure the housing to the container such that any attempt to open the door will cause a visual failure of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5849142
Abstract: An applicator for applying surface relief three-dimensional seals or medallions to containers which includes a rotatable transfer ring having a plurality of seal retaining receivers therein formed therein in which plungers are reciprocally mounted. A vaccuum header is associated with the ring so as to create reduced pressure in the receivers for removing seals from a carrier tape and retaining the seals within the receivers as the transfer ring is indexed to align the seals with containers being conveyed relative to the applicator. An activator is provided for urging the plungers from the receivers to thereby apply the seals retained therein against aligned containers.

  • Patent number: 5762386
Abstract: A tamper resistant seal and a method of sealing an object using the tamper resistant seal are disclosed. The seal includes a receptacle and an insert adapted to be received in the receptacle. A tamper indicating wire is partially embedded in the insert and protrudes from an end of the insert. When the seal is assembled the insert is received in the receptacle and the wire extends along channels formed in opposite faces of the insert. If the wire is severed or removed from the channels by a tamperer attempting to break the seal, the structure of the channels prevents the wire from being repositioned therein to give a false indication of non-tampering. In addition, the receptacle is transparent to enable the wire to be visually examined to determine whether tampering has occurred.

  • Patent number: 5639131
Abstract: A tamper resistant seal and method of forming a seal including a strip having at least one end portion which is foldable about one or more score lines each having two or more segments which converge with one another across the strip generally obliquely relative to a longitudinal axis thereof and wherein the end portion is caused to be severed in a controlled manner to provide visual evidence of tampering.

  • Patent number: 5573043
Abstract: A closure cup for interfused connection with a pressure dispenser. The pressure dispenser is of the type having an essentially rigid and pressure-resistant outer container made of a fusible and preferably thermoplastic synthetic organic polymer composition, such as a polyester or polycarbonate. The closure cup is made of a synthetic organic polymer composition capable of interfusion with the polymer composition of the outer container and is adapted for receiving and holding a valve assembly made up of a valve housing and a displaceable valve outlet. The closure cup is closed after pressurization of the complete dispenser structure. Such closure is capable of interfusion with the material of the closure cup so as to form a sealing closure by interfusion having substantially the same physical and chemical characteristics, notably resistance against aging and migration of the pressurizing medium, as the closure cup.

  • Patent number: 5320255
Abstract: A container for storing a product under pressure and dispensing the stored product comprises a container body having screw threads arranged about an opening of the container body, a valve for dispensing a pressurized product from the container, and a closure having screw threads thereon threaded onto the threaded container body for fastening the closure and the valve to the container body to close the opening. One or more passages are provided in the container body and/or the closure for introducing pressurized gas between the closure and container body and into the container through the container opening when the closure is being screwed onto the container body. In a preferred embodiment, the container is a barrier pack container having an inner collapsible container located within the container body to provide separate chambers for propellent and product.

  • Patent number: 5210966
Abstract: An identification tag which includes a channel for receiving the base of a crimp pin assembly and wherein the channel is defined by opposing flanges having a slot therebetween through which portions of the pin assembly extend and wherein protrusions are provided adjacent the flanges for preventing the removal of the pin assembly once it is seated within the channel.

  • Patent number: 5085476
Abstract: A seal for a projecting drum ring includes a housing which is open at the back and the bottom and has a stem with a tapered head extending downwardly, the stem being connected by a relatively weak joint to the upper wall of the housing, the upper wall having a strap extending therefrom in order that when the tapered head is pressed through the ring it is retained against undetected tampering but the seal may be easily removed by pulling on the strap thereby breaking the stem at the connection to the head.

  • Patent number: 4946210
Abstract: A shackle seal housing has a separate plug that is snugly received in its entirety within one end of the housing, the housing having an inwardly extending circumferential ridge and the plug having a groove in its outer wall which receives the ridge when the plug is seated. The inner end of the plug has a cavity which snugly receives the shackle end thereby preventing inward compression of the plug when it is seated within the housing. The housing may have a non-circular configuration, to prevent twisting of the shackle within the housing. The shackle strap may have a variable width border provided by an opening to permit selection of its breaking strength.
