  • Patent number: 5771301
Abstract: A sound leveling system for maintaining an output signal below a slope of predetermined maximum output levels includes a signal adjusting circuit, an integrator, and a peak rate limiter circuit. The signal adjusting circuit receives input signals and a control signal to produce the output signal that are output by the system. The signal adjusting circuit uses the control signal from the integrator circuit with the input signal to produce a gain that adjusts the output signal in accordance with the control signal such that output signal is maintained below the slope of predetermined maximum output levels. The integrator circuit is coupled to the signal adjusting circuit to receive and sample the produced output signal. The integrator circuit then determines a maximum amplitude of the output signal and uses the maximum amplitude to produce the control signal. The control signal determines a rate of response of the system, a control threshold, and a level of output slope control applied to the output signal.

  • Patent number: 4357488
Abstract: A voice discriminating system is disclosed which includes input circuitry for a pair of microphones, circuitry for detecting the presence of voiced sounds inputted to the microphones, selectively enabled circuitry for detecting the presence of unvoiced sounds inputted to the microphones, and a microcontroller which executes functions under the control of the presence or absence of voiced or non-voiced sounds inputted to the microphones. The disclosed system further includes a display circuit and a sound circuit that are controlled by the microcontroller for the purpose of playing games wherein the players provide spoken commands to the microphones.

  • Patent number: 3949388
Abstract: A small self-contained sensor and transmitter assembly including a sensor for detecting physiological and bio-medical phenomena and a transmitter for transferring such data to a receiver for display and other use is disclosed. In one embodiment, the sensor is adapted to be secured within the axilla of a patient to detect his temperature by means of a thermistor arranged in heat exchange relation with the body of the patient. The thermistor modulates the pulsing rate of a blocking oscillator which generates a magnetic field, the pulsing rate being proportional to the physiological phenomenon of interest. The oscillator, power supply, antenna, and other circuit elements are mounted within corresponding compartments in a molded plastic housing, the arrangement being such that substantially all of the interconnections between circuit elements are made using only the component lead wires.
