  • Publication number: 20240130853
Abstract: Described are implants for placing in a body, tools for delivering the implants, and systems and methods for using implants and tools for placing in a body and more particularly to nasal implants, tools for delivering nasal implants, and systems and methods for using such implants and tools. A tool may include a hand-held implant delivery device that cuts, holds, moves, orients, inserts, or shapes an implant. An implant may be a biodegradable, longitudinal implant that may be oriented for implantation by an implant delivery device.

  • Patent number: 5298088
Abstract: A valve closer for a valve installed in a flow line of a flammable liquid or other hazardous flowable material which is normally open with the closer of the present invention automatically moving the valve to closed position by turning the valve one-quarter of a turn when a fusible link is rendered inoperative when subjected to predetermined high temperature conditions which may occur in the event of a fire. The fusible link, when rendered inoperative, will release a pivotal latch that is engaged with and will release a spring biased actuating member that will rotate the valve stem one-quarter turn to close the valve and interrupt the flow of material through the flow line in which the valve is installed.

  • Patent number: 5275194
Abstract: Fire control valve through which flows flammable material, such as gas or liquid, includes exteriorly located, replaceable locking pin assembly having a locking pin for locking the valve member of the fire control valve in the open position to enable flow through the fire control valve, the locking pin assembly being also located out of the path of such flow and including a heat-meltable material that holds locking pin in locked position with the valve member and, upon being melted, enables release of locking pin from locked position; the fire control valve including a sealing arrangement to prevent escape of flammable material to atmosphere past valve member and locking pin assembly.

  • Patent number: 5004003
Abstract: A valve installed in the flow line of a flammable or other hazardous flowable material which normally open but will be automatically closed to interrupt the flow of flammable or hazardous material to a discharge point in the event of a hazardous condition occurring. The valve is held in an open position by a fusible link which retains a pivotal latch in engagement with a spring biased valve to retain the valve in open position. The fusible link will melt when subjected to predetermined conditions such as a high temperature condition which occurs in the event of a fire thereby releasing the latch and valve for movement to a closed position for stopping flow of flammable material in order to control the fire or other hazardous condition.

  • Patent number: 3983196
Abstract: A settable foam plastic product being formed in a mold cavity is compressed, after a film has formed on the surface of the product, but before final setting of the product. This compression step, which is carried out by reducing the volume of the mold cavity, has the advantage of increasing the accuracy of reproduction of fine surface detail. The compression step also permits stops to be readily removed to enable subsequent full opening of the mold cavity. This use of movable stops in turn facilitates absorption of the forces encountered during the injection step with less massive machine structure than heretofore, resulting in the possibility of economical manufacture of larger products. The machine also includes an improved mold cavity construction in which the parting planes are perpendicular to the main plane of the product, and incorporating laterally movable end and side mold members to facilitate removal of the product and the formation of surface detail on edge surfaces of the product.
