  • Patent number: 6283525
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bed extender apparatus for extending and enlarging the useful carrying capacity of the bed of a pickup truck. The pickup truck has an elongated bed defined by a forward wall, a pair of sidewalls, a floor and a tailgate hingedly attached to a rearward edge of the floor. The bed extender apparatus comprises a U-shaped frame movably arranged on an upper edge of the sidewalls, the U-shaped frame including a transverse wall and a pair of parallel arms. The transverse wall is storably disposed adjacent the forward wall of the bed when the bed extender apparatus is in a non-bed extended configuration. The transverse wall is displaceable onto the tailgate when the bed extender is in a bed extended configuration.

  • Patent number: 5860348
Abstract: A method of dividing deep-frozen food blocks comprising forming a succession of spaced parallel blade rows each row having a plurality of spaced parallel coaxial freely rotatable discoid blades and advancing successive food blocks past the successive blade rows so that the blades in the successive blade rows rotate with a peripheral speed which more or less matches the speed of the block advance so that there is minimal relative linear motion of the blade edges and the blocks whereby the blades groove the blocks by displacing block material to the sides of the grooves and selecting a number of blade rows such that while the grooves made by any blade row are quite shallow, the grooves made by all of the blade rows divide each of the blocks into a plurality of parts. Apparatus for practicing the method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5820911
Abstract: The present invention comprises a foodstuff processing assembly for the continuous, uniform flow per unit time discharge of a foodstuff onto a moveable conveyor belt, the assembly comprising a support frame for supportively holding the pump assembly. A plurality of split pump housings are disposed transversely with respect to the conveyor belt. An upper drive shaft rotates a plurality of gears within each of the spilt pump housing portions. A lower support shaft rotatably supports corresponding lower array of gear teeth within those split pump housings. The input chambers are arranged in communication with a common manifold, and a plurality of nozzles are disposed in a forward portion of each of the split pump housing sections. A pressurized foodstuff containment vessel is in communication through a manifold into each of the input chambers feeding the split pump housing members.

  • Patent number: 5518445
Abstract: The present invention comprises an elongated bar which is trough-shaped having side walls, at least one of which has a foodstuff securement arrangement such as slots placed therethrough, or a foldable panel attached thereto, so as to hold a foodstuff such as the tail of a shrimp securely therein. The elongated bar may also have a cover and end walls which all act to help enclose the secured portion of the foodstuff (shrimp) from any food processing operation.
