    Abstract: An exercise apparatus employing a treadmill of conventional design includes upper body exercise features involving a lever having a rearwardly disposed gripping handle and a forwardly disposed extremity pivotably secured to a stanchion of adjustable height. Reversibly extensible tether bands or springs extend between the lever and the stanchion. By changing the height of the stanchion, the gripping handle may be positioned at waist level, thereby permitting upward pulling exercise, or at shoulder level, permitting upward pushing exercise.
