  • Publication number: 20230393554
Abstract: A method of forming a component that includes identifying an acute angle in an original model that is a virtual model of the component. The acute angle is defined by a first surface and a second surface. The method includes compensating the original model at the acute angle to create a compensated acute angle in a compensated model. The method also includes forming, by additive manufacturing, the component based upon the compensated model, where the formed component is more alike the original model than the compensated model.

  • Patent number: 6643646
Abstract: A method of analyzing data contained in a very large database or data warehouse includes applying first a patient rule induction method with selected input variables and an output variable to develop a region containing a subset of database records having a highest average output value. Then, the subset of records may be aggregated, sorted, compared, or new measures computed, preferably using an on line analytical processing function, for an pattern analysis of the subset records. An alternative is to apply a weighted item set function to the subset to produce a reduced subset, and then applying the reduced subset to on line analytical processing for pattern analysis.

  • Patent number: 5849076
Abstract: Barrel reactor apparatus for chemical vapor deposition of a material on a semiconductor wafer having a cooling system which protects the semiconductor wafers from metals contamination caused by degradation of metallic surfaces of the barrel reactor. Degradation is caused by water reacting with other substances (e.g., HCl) in the barrel reactor. The cooling system has a controller which monitors the operational state of the barrel reactor and selects an operating setpoint based on the detected operational condition. As a result, the metallic surfaces of the barrel reactor are kept cool during operation to retard corrosive chemical reaction rates, and kept warmer than would be otherwise possible when the barrel reactor is not operating to prevent adsorption of water by and condensation of water onto the metallic surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5698821
Abstract: A cable assembly for efficiently connecting together SCSI devices and multi-channel adapters. The cable assembly includes a plurality of cables clamped together by a pass-thru bulkhead assembly, so that the cables can pass through the bulkhead of a cabinet to a multi-channel adapter mounted inside the cabinet. The cables electrically connect to the multi-channel adapter using low profile connectors to maximize the number of connectors that can couple to the adapter and to minimize the amount of clearance required between adapters in the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 4750634
Abstract: A gas priming device combining a resilient bellows in combination with an open cap having an inwardly directed annular flange. The lowermost repeating bellows unit is enclosed and encircled by the inwardly directed annular flange of the cap, so that when the cap is secured to a gas supply conduit, the lowermost repeating bellows unit is squeezed between the upper end surface of the conduit and the inwardly directed annular flange, to form a sealing gasket for the priming device. Priming is effected by covering the hole disposed on the upper end of the bellows and compressing the bellows in the direction of fuel feed.

  • Patent number: 4527112
Abstract: A control circuit for a vehicle electrical system which is operative when the vehicle engine is running but the vehicle is not in motion to sense vehicle storage battery voltage and, when that voltage is below a predetermined threshold, to enable an electrically controllable device to open somewhat the engine throttle raising engine speed and increasing the output of an engine driven electrical source. The control circuit finds particular utility in emergency vehicles such as ambulances and the like where that vehicle may remain at an emergency site for an extended period of time with the engine idling and with numerous electrical demands on the vehicle electrical system to increase the engine speed when those electrical demands have sufficiently exceeded the output of an engine driven alternator with the engine running at idle.

  • Patent number: 4242915
Abstract: An extensometer anchor for use in a mine borehole. The anchor has an anchor body that, when in an operative mode, is placed in the borehole. Extending at least partially around the outer surface of the body are one or more grooves whose major plane is generally perpendicular to the length of the borehole. Seated within each groove is a compressible resilient anchor member, like a ring, which remains loaded by a retaining device, such as a cotter pin, extending through it. Upon being pulled from outside of the borehole, the retaining device unloads the compressed anchor which then moves to expand outwardly in the borehole and firmly anchor the anchor body and attached extensometer within the mine borehole.
