  • Patent number: 8215889
Abstract: A high current cursor comprises a outer frame in which a center carriage travels. The center carriage travels between the top and bottom of the outer frame. Movement of the center carriage is limited within the outer frame constraints and its own locking mechanism. Center carriage carries a bend restrictor for an umbilical or lift line. When the center carriage travels down to a predetermined position within the high current cursor, equipment is allowed to exit the high current cursor or is retrieved back into the high current cursor when the bend restrictor reaches a predetermined position within the outer frame, e.g. at its lowest point, allowing dispersal and/or retrieval without obstruction back to a fixed recovery point.

  • Publication number: 20060192673
Abstract: A method and system for effectuating the optimum configuration of a duplex tracking device used to track the location and attributes of a mobile asset during a discrete event and the distribution of the data reported by the device so that the owner of the mobile asset and one or more of the owner's business partners can contemporaneously access the tracking data that they require. Each party first specifies a minimum configuration for all events with which they are associated, and then optionally specifies more extensive configurations for classes of discrete events. The owner may also constrain the data that partners can request by specifying access authorities for each class of business partners. The configuration parameters for a discrete event are systematically determined to minimize the data to be reported by the device while still meeting the requirements of all the parties, as constrained by the access authorities.

  • Publication number: 20050228705
Abstract: A method and apparatus for effectuating the shipment and appointment making process between buyers, sellers and third party service providers in a supply community. Any shipping location may create and maintain an appointment calendar within which one or more other participants may seek and select open time slots and request shipping reservations for unreserved slots. Operating hours, peak and off-peak hours, the duration of each dock time slot, any set aside time slots (left unreserved for exception events), and the appointment making lead-time window in the appointment calendar are specified by the shipping location. The shipping location can assign participants specific appointment making privileges and manually review and accept or reject appointment requests for requestors that have not been granted self-appointing privileges.

  • Publication number: 20050177424
Abstract: The invention is a system and process for inducing collaboration among buyers, sellers and third party suppliers by having participants establish favorable financial consequences for one or more other participants who are motivated to achieve or exceed a minimum level of performance on one or more key performance indicators. It is particularly beneficial because it enables any participant in a supply community to cost-effectively collaborate in gainsharing efforts with many other participants contemporaneously. Contrary to the gainsharing practices in labor remuneration and one-on-one buyer/seller business arrangements, gainsharing in this development can be practiced by many participants (partners) with many other participants (other partners) in a most cost-effective manner.

  • Publication number: 20050034852
Abstract: An apparatus and process for simultaneously compressing liquids and gases and exchanging the heat of compression with fluids which may be the same liquids and gasses compressed. An apparatus and process for heating maintenance fluids using heat generated when the lift gas is compressed. The compressor may be used for recovering oil and gas from a subterranean formation wherein the production rate is controlled by the gas pressure at the well head, resulting in very slow strokes or pulses and bubbles of lift gas 500 feet long or longer. It may also be used for well maintenance using cooled injection gas from the well and heated fluids, which also may come from the well and be mixed with the well gas during compression, may be conducted without interrupting production.
