  • Patent number: 5369691
Abstract: An apparatus for communicating information between customer locations and remote locations desiring the information exchange which allows the communications to occur over existing communications lines without interfering with the existing uses of those lines. The apparatus includes an acquisition device located at the customer's location, and a signal shifting means located at a local distribution point in relatively close proximity to the customer's location which receives an out-of-band signal from the customer location and converts it to an in-band signal transmitted over the greater distance to the remote location desiring the information exchange using normal telephone transmission through telephone company switch equipment.

  • Patent number: 4477860
Abstract: In a printed circuit, a plurality of drive electrodes are arranged in an array which is symmetrical about a center detector electrode. A plurality of conductive arms extend outwardly from the center electrode between adjacent electrodes in the array. One of the conductive arms extends to a contact point outside the array and provides electrical communication in the form of an electrical conductive path from the center electrode to the contact point. The remaining arms terminate substantially co-extensive with the radial extremity of the drive electrodes in the array and eliminate inadvertent imbalances in the output signal from the array.

  • Patent number: 4165505
Abstract: A rotating electric field is generated in the vicinity of a rotating member, the electric field having an axis of rotation coinciding with the axis of rotation of the member. An electric-field sensing or reading device is positioned at the rotational axis of the electric field and associated therewith for detecting variations therein as the electric field passes the rotating member, and creates an electrical output whose relative phase is dependent upon the angular orientation of the rotating member.
