  • Patent number: 8224068
Abstract: A method, system, and associated program code, for 3-dimensional image acquisition, using structured light illumination, of a surface-of-interest under observation by at least one camera. One aspect includes: illuminating the surface-of-interest, while static/at rest, with structured light to obtain initial depth map data therefor; while projecting a hold pattern comprised of a plurality of snake-stripes at the static surface-of-interest, assigning an identity to and an initial lock position of each of the snake-stripes of the hold pattern; and while projecting the hold pattern, tracking, from frame-to-frame each of the snake-stripes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 18, 2008
Date of Patent: July 17, 2012
Assignee: University of Kentucky Research Foundation (UKRF)
Inventors: Laurence G. Hassebrook, Daniel L. Lau, Charles J. Casey

  • Patent number: 4667931
Abstract: A cam-actuated valve is provided which includes a valve chamber having a poppet valve therein. A diaphragm separates the exterior of the valve body from fluid contained within the valve chamber. An actuator sleeve is positioned on the body for rotational and longitudinal motion. The vlave sleeve is spring-biased into a closed or "off" position by moving the actuator sleeve against the biased spring and rotating the spring about thirty degrees. The valve is moved to the "open" position. A cam forces a ball to move in a radial direction so as to open the poppet of the valve and thereby allow fluid to flow from an inlet to an outlet through the valve assembly. Locking means are provided whereby the valve is locked in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 3991672
Abstract: A line printer for printing successive lines of information on a ticket. As the ticket is guided toward ticket printing and advancing mechanisms, a first ticket sensor energizes a latch circuit and shifts the ticket advancing mechanism from a normally closed condition to an open condition. The ticket then moves freely into the printer to a predetermined position defined by a stop. A second ticket sensor at the stop is then actuated to close the ticket advancing mechanism and enable ticket advancement.
