  • Publication number: 20200148297
Abstract: A powered vehicle has a rear frame assembly and a front frame assembly that are pivotally attached to one another, and can be pivoted from a normal fully-extended operating position to a folded position in which the frame assemblies are positioned substantially adjacent to one another, effectively reducing overall vehicle length to about half. One or more latch members lock the front and rear frame assemblies in the fully-extended, normal operating position, and they may be used to lock the frame assemblies in the folded position. The seat support structure may be integrated with the front and rear frame assemblies such that pivoting the frame assemblies toward the folded position collapses the seat support. The steering tiller may also be collapsible toward the front frame assembly. The rear wheels may be mounted on a transaxle that is pivotally mounted on the rear frame assembly. An extendable handle may be provided to assist in the folding operation and to tow the collapsed vehicle on its anti-tip rollers.

  • Patent number: 9874358
Abstract: A cooking oven comprising a housing, a cavity, an oven door, an air plenum, an infrared heating element, and a thermal insulating layer placed between the infrared heating element and the air plenum is disclosed. The infrared hearing element comprises a wire-like heating element shaped in a serpentine-pattern to form a plurality of fingers. The thermal insulating layer comprises a plurality of air channels interconnecting the air plenum and the cavity, and one or more temperature decoupling chambers for thermally insulating the air plenum from the infrared heating element. The air channels are positioned interleavingly between the plurality of fingers so that airstreams coming from the air plenum through each of the air channels into the cavity do not substantially contact and convectively cool the infrared heating element. The temperature decoupling chambers may use air as a thermal insulator.

  • Patent number: 8286745
Abstract: A powered personal mobility vehicle for transporting an infirm occupant includes at least three wheels configured to contact the ground, at least one electric motor, a frame, a lower seat post coupled to the frame and extending upwardly from the frame, a modular suspension unit supported by the lower seat post, and a seat assembly supported only by the modular suspension unit. The modular suspension unit includes a post assembly that includes an outer post slidably coupled to an inner post, and a dampener located completely within the post assembly. The modular suspension unit is removably coupled to the lower seat post and is configured to be removable from the lower seat post as a unitary assembly. The outer post, the inner post, and the dampener are configured to dampen vertical movement of the seat assembly relative to the frame in response to impact between the wheels and the ground.
