    Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the brightness of one or more light emitting diodes includes a sensing circuit to sense a dimming level of a dimmer. A microprocessor receives from the sensing circuit a signal indicative of the dimming level, and a drive circuit drives the one or more light emitting diodes. The microprocessor is arranged to generate a PWM waveform or current level corresponding to the dimming level and to provide the PWM waveform or current level to the drive circuit.

    Abstract: A high frequency ballast power supply for a high intensity discharge lamp includes a variable frequency voltage generating circuit for producing a regulated cyclical voltage. After ignition of the lamp, the variable frequency voltage generating circuit operates to vary the frequency of the cyclical voltage over the range of frequencies with a maximum frequency of less than or equal to about 375 kHz. A resonant circuit for regulating the power supplied to the lamp is interposed between the variable frequency voltage generating circuit and the lamp.

    Abstract: A voltage adapter for use with DC operable devices and for deriving a DC output voltage from either an AC voltage power source or a DC voltage power source. The voltage adapter, which is selectively coupled by a cable assembly to either a DC voltage power source or an AC voltage power source, includes separate voltage regulators for regulating a DC output voltage derived from the AC voltage and a DC output voltage derived from the DC voltage. The voltage adapter also allows selection of the amplitude for the DC output voltage within a range.
