  • Patent number: 8925665
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the propulsion and direction of an air cushion vehicle including a housing and a first vane pivotally coupled to the housing and pivotable about a first axis. A second vane assembly including at least one second vane is disposed within the first vane. The second vane assembly is pivotally coupled to the first vane and pivotal about a second axis. The second axis is orthogonal to the first axis. A first actuator is operably coupled to the first vane and a second actuator is operably coupled to the second vane assembly. The first actuator pivots the first vane and the second vane assembly about the first axis. The second actuator pivots the second vane assembly relative to the first vane and about the second axis to control the flow of air through the housing.

  • Patent number: 7306066
Abstract: The present invention is an air cushion vehicle and a control mechanism for steering and turning the vehicle. The air cushion vehicle includes a frame having a skirt body extending around the perimeter. An air flow generator may be positioned on the frame for providing a lift flow and thrust flow. At least one vane is disposed on the frame to direct the thrust flow. At least one fin is disposed on the frame downstream of the vane for directing the thrust flow. A turning controller may be used for moving the vane and fin in a coordinating movement to affect the direction or the motion of the air cushion vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4910030
Abstract: A frozen confectionary product including a shell, having two openings at its opposed ends and a longitudinally hollow center. The center of the shell is filled with a frozen product, such as, for instance, ice cream, which is substantially enveloped by the shell. The product is self-supporting and self-sustained and remains intact during consumption. The method for producing the frozen confectionary product is also provided. The method essentially includes providing a shell, introducing a frozen product into the hollow center of the shell and freezing the shell, while maintaining the frozen texture of the product contained within.
