  • Patent number: 8352912
Abstract: A computer program product is provided. The computer program product includes a computer useable medium having a computer readable program. The computer readable program when executed on a computer causes the computer to generate a topology role in a topology role tier that is included in a topology pattern. Further, the computer readable program when executed on a computer causes the computer to create a component in a component tier that is defined in the topology pattern such that the component corresponds to the topology role. In addition, the computer readable program when executed on a computer causes the computer to map the topology role to a deployment target.

  • Patent number: 8010504
Abstract: A method of deploying enterprise applications or updates to data processing systems in a complex data processing environment. The enterprise applications or updates are phase deployed to the target data processing systems. Phased deployment includes the steps of preparing one affected node, quiescing all affected servers in the node, stopping all affected servers in the node, synchronizing the node, delivering the applications or updates, starting all affected servers, reactivating all affected servers, restoring the affected node, and repeating these steps for each affected node one at a time until all targeted data processing systems have been affected.

  • Publication number: 20090063623
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for determining connection information to use to access an artifact from an application on a remote server. A request is received in a local server for an artifact at a target application executing on a remote server. A determination is made as to whether a local repository includes connection information on the remote server. The connection information is used to communicate the request for the artifact to the remote server over a network. The connection information is accessed from the local repository in response to determining that the local repository includes the connection information for the remote server. A determination is made as to whether a common repository is available to provide the connection information for the remote server in response to determining that the local repository does not include the connection information for the remote server.

  • Patent number: 7360114
Abstract: A method, apparatus, system, and signal-bearing medium that in an embodiment determine whether to log an exception based on whether the exception has already occurred. In an embodiment, exceptions that repeatedly occur at the same source and location within the source are logged on the first occurrence, and not logged thereafter. In this way, data can be saved about the exception, yet system resources are not consumed by repeated logging.
