  • Publication number: 20070152441
Abstract: A connection system for connecting tubular members to each other includes a rotatable connector sleeve on one of the tubular members. A make-up tool has a curved rack of gear teeth that are engagable with the connector sleeve for causing rotation of the connector sleeve in unison with the rack. The make-up tool includes a power tool having a drive motor that rotates a drive shaft. A pinion gear mounted on the drive shaft engages the teeth of the rack to cause the rack to move in a rotational direction when the drive shaft is rotated. This movement causes the connector sleeve to rotate to make-up or break-out the connection.

  • Publication number: 20070044975
Abstract: An offshore riser system has riser joints, each having a pin and a box. The pin has an external grooved profile that is engaged by a locking element carried by the box of another riser joint. An actuating ring engages with the locking element to move it into the locked position. A retractable spider supports the string of riser while the new joint is being made up. A makeup tool on the riser deploying floor moves the ring relative to the locking element, causing the locking element to move to the locked position.

  • Patent number: 7054949
Abstract: The system and method for streaming media to a viewer and managing the media comprises and an enhanced service routing processor (ESRP), a real time switch management system (RTSMS), a name routing processor (NRP), and a managed media switch (MMS). The system and method operate with a reservation server. The ESRP receives media from an owner, manages the media according to media rules and order rules defined by the owner, and distributes the media to one or more switches, such as the MMS, according to the media rules and the order rules. The RTSMS is configured to receive the media rules and to receive a viewer's media request via the reservation server. The RTSMS processes the media request according to the media rules and builds a reservation for the requested media. The RTSMS generates the reservation to the viewer and to the NRP. The NRP receives the reservation data from the viewer and from the RTSMS. The NRP processes the reservation data and locates an MMS that can stream the media to the viewer.

  • Publication number: 20060036332
Abstract: An implantable human kidney replacement unit. Fully functional self contained, providing patients with end stage renal disease the freedom of traveling and moving about normally. Replacing donor kidneys. Implanted in the flank with at least one inlet and outlet tube each, sutured to the iliac artery and vain, at least one urine tube to the ureter. The housing constructed of anti-coagulant bacteriostatic materials has a plurality of reverse-osmosis process chambers with semipemeable membranes through the unit, followed by osmosis-diffusion chambers and membranes. Blood from the artery enters the first of the chambers. Small molecules such as water, magnesium, sodium, potassium, calcium, urea etc. are extracted from the blood according to their weight in atomic mass units as blood wipes past the self-cleaning membrane cartridges in the chambers. Molecules are further separated and urea sent to the bladder with excess water and electrolytes.

  • Publication number: 20050152509
Abstract: A communication system that comprises call processors, interworking units, and a control system handles a plurality of calls. The call processors process signaling messages for the calls, and in response, transfer control messages for the calls and transfer data messages for the calls. The interworking units receive the control messages and user communications for the calls and interwork the user communications between a first communication format and a second communication format in response to the control messages. The control system receives and processes the data messages for the calls to maintain an active call database having call data for active ones of the calls. The control system receives a query, and in response, processes the active call database to identify one of the active calls that satisfies the query.

  • Publication number: 20050075013
Abstract: A wellhead assembly has an electrical connector that has a movable inner member carried in a tubing hanger for stroking outward into engagement with an stationary outer component located in a passage in the sidewall of the wellhead or tree. A running tool releasably engages the tubing hanger and has an actuator that moves axially for setting the tubing hanger in the bore. The inner member of the electrical connection is movable in response to axial movement of the actuator of the running tool from a retracted position to an extended position in electrical engagement with the inner end of the outer member.

  • Publication number: 20050051337
Abstract: In a subsea wellhead assembly, a collet ring assembly is used with a hanger for suspending a string of conduit in a subsea wellhead assembly. The ring assembly includes a collet that extends around an outer surface of the hanger. The collet has an upper portion that rotates radially between locked and unlocked positions. The ring assembly has a protruding lower portion extending radially outward from the hanger for engaging an interior surface of the wellhead assembly, which causes the upper portion of the collet to rotate radially outward to engage the interior surface of the wellhead assembly in a locked position. The ring assembly includes a back-up ring that engages the interior of the collet, which the collet rotates around between its locked and unlocked positions.

  • Publication number: 20040025186
Abstract: A system and method for streaming media comprises a stream routing processor, a switch controller, a stream caster, media storage, and a packet switch. The stream routing processor determines if the stream caster is configured to stream requested media. The switch controller monitors the status of all devices and events and notifies the stream routing processor if an error or alarm condition occurs. The stream caster streams media upon receiving a valid reservation identification. The media storage stores the media for retrieval by the stream caster. The packet switch transmits signaling and media from the system and between devices of the system, including the stream routing processor, the switch controller, the stream caster, and the media storage.
