  • Patent number: 11285521
Abstract: A drain cleaner assembly including a base unit including a housing, a drive arrangement positioned within the housing, and a motor coupled to the drive arrangement and supported by the housing, the motor operable to selectively drive the drive arrangement, and a drum unit removably coupled to the base unit. The drum unit includes a drum that engages the drive arrangement when the drum unit is coupled to the base unit to rotate the drum, a cable stored within the drum and selectively extendable out of the drum and into a drain, and an outer casing at least partially surrounding the drum, wherein the drum is rotatable within the outer casing, wherein the drive arrangement includes a coupling arrangement between the motor and the drum, the drive arrangement extending through the outer casing.

  • Patent number: 9475172
Abstract: A power tool includes an output shaft defining a rotational axis and a housing from which the output shaft protrudes. The power tool further includes a flange at least partially surrounding the output shaft, a circumferential groove defined between the housing and the flange, and a radially inward-extending slot in the flange. The power tool also includes a rotatable guard having a first radially inward-extending projection and a plurality of apertures positioned radially about the rotational axis. The first radially inward-extending projection is receivable through the radially inward-extending slot in the flange and positioned within the groove. Furthermore, the power tool includes a lever having a detent member, and a biasing member for biasing the lever toward the rotatable guard. The detent member is receivable in one of the plurality of apertures to rotationally lock the rotatable guard relative to the housing.
