  • Patent number: 10605550
Abstract: A quick release pin is used in a firearm to secure a barrel assembly to a frame and a recoil assembly within a slide. The cylindrical body of the pin functions similarly to traditional takedown pins and pivot pins used with firearms while the lever arm has unique features that are an improvement over traditional takedown pins. The arm has a locking lip at its proximate end, a detent at its distal end, and a cut-out center section which is thinner than the distal end and proximal end. The cut-out center section creates a space between the arm and the firearm's side when the arm is in its locked configuration which provides side edges for a user to grasp the edges of the arm between a finger and thumb while the thicker distal end of the arm is in flush contact with the side of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 10054381
Abstract: A slide assembly quick release pin and arm that secure a recoil assembly within a slide. The pin is inserted through a pair of apertures in a front portion of the slide and through a bore in the nose portion of the recoil assembly aligned between the apertures. As the pin secures the recoil assembly within the slide an arm attached to the end of the pin rests in a recess, flush to the body of the slide in a locked orientation. The pin arm is rotated from a locked orientation within the recess in the assembled configuration to an unlocked orientation out of the recess before the firearm is disassembled. Additionally, the arm acts as a handle for grasping and rotating to provide a mechanical advantage when a user is removing or inserting the pin into the apertures and bore.

  • Patent number: 9518791
Abstract: In a breech loading firearm, an extractor arm is slidingly arranged within a cavity beneath the barrel. The extractor arm has a retracted position and an extended position. In the retracted position, the extractor arm is constrained from rotating, and in the extended position, the extractor arm has at least one degree of rotational freedom in the cavity without bending. The intermediate portion of the extractor arm is thicker than the distal end such that the second thickness fits within the cavity when the extractor arm is in its retracted position. The reduced thickness at the distal end provides a space between the extractor arm and a wall of the cavity when the extractor arm is in its extended position to provide for the rotation of the extractor arm within the cavity in its extended position. The proximal end of the extractor arm has an angled face.

  • Patent number: 9163890
Abstract: A trigger mechanism has a hammer, a hammer spring, a disconnect rest and a sear. The sear translates along a longitudinal axis between a rest position and a break point and also moves in an arc around a rotational axis from the break point to a disconnect position. The sear has a hammer side that presses against and rotates the hammer's cam end of as the sear moves between the rest position and the break point and thereby rotates the hammer's striking end around the hammer's pivot point between its seated and cocked positions. The support side contacts the disconnect rest's face as the sear moves between the rest position and the break point. The support side has an edge that is located at the ledge at the break point position. The hammer spring forces the sear to the disconnect position as the edge moves past the ledge.

  • Patent number: 9103626
Abstract: A firearm has a frame with an interchangeable barrel that is mounted to the frame through a tool-less knockdown pin. The barrel has ports in a smooth-bore section and no ports in a rifled-bore section, and the ports are progressively spaced, with the ports closest to the rifled-bore section having a greater distance between the ports than the ports closest to the muzzle. Preferably, the firearm is a multi-chamber design such as a revolver with a firing cylinder or a multi-barrel breech-loader that holds multiple rounds of ammunition together with a storage-firing clip while stored in an ammunition compartment and also when loaded into the firing chambers and discharged by the firearm. The frame preferably has a trigger mechanism with a sear assembly that includes a block assembly with a wedge block that translates on a guide rod and a disconnect block that is supported by a disconnect rest.

  • Patent number: 8997390
Abstract: A trigger mechanism has a hammer, a hammer spring, a trigger pull, a trigger spring, a pivotal linkage between the trigger pull and a sear which has a cam surface and a guide. The hammer has striking and bearing ends and a pivot point between the ends. The hammers' bearing end rides up on the cam surface as it moves between different positions relative to the guide. The hammer pivots around the pivot point and the striking end is moved between the hammer's seated and cocked positions as the cam surface moves between its positions. The hammer spring has opposite ends connected to the firearm's frame and the hammer, respectively, which provides a hammer spring force. The hammer spring biases the striking end of the hammer to the seated, striking position and the movement of the hammer to its rearward position is performed against the hammer spring force.
