  • Publication number: 20200264759
Abstract: Techniques for collecting information about plants on a per plant or near per plant basis and promulgating remedial courses of action are disclosed. A horticultural operation receives plant information such as a plurality of images corresponding to a plurality of plants respectively, wherein at least one of the received plurality of images is an image of interest containing an identified plant, an identified artifact, and is associated with an identified issue of the identified plant corresponding to the identified artifact. The image of interest is displayed to workers in the horticultural operation along with the identified issue of the identified plant corresponding to the identified artifact.

  • Patent number: 10687153
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to hearing devices configurable between open fit and closed fit configurations at different times through actuation of one or more acoustic valves located in one or more corresponding sound passages of the hearing device. The one or more acoustic valves of the hearing device are adaptively controlled based on context detected by one or more sensors. The context may be, but is not limited to, a mode of operation of the hearing devices which may include, for example, an audio content playback mode and a voice communication mode. The actuatable valves may be actuatable in situ without having to remove the hearing device from the user's ear thereby enabling the user to experience the benefit of a closed fit or an open fit depending on the user's desire or other context.

  • Patent number: 10635274
Abstract: A system to collect information about plants on a per plant or near per plant basis and to promulgate remedial courses of action is disclosed. A horticultural operation collects plant information, aggregates the information, and allows an administrative worker such as a master grower to review issues about plants in a grow operations and the associated potential remedial course of action. The administrative worker can then browse data about the affected plants to determine whether to select the potential remedial course of action. Browsing and review of issues may be done collaboratively by remote administrative workers. Remedial courses of action are then dispatched to line workers solely using an iconographic language, who in turn provide notifications when the courses of action are done. Administrative workers may then validate and verify that the courses of action have been properly executed and evaluate the courses of action's efficacy.

  • Patent number: 10627785
Abstract: Sensors provide environmental conditions and plant growth information while control devices regulate the conditions. A calculated data point for a growth of a plant may be generated, and an optimum input variable value for the growth may be obtained. A target value for a sensor data point of a sensor that monitors a condition affecting the growth or the calculated data point for the growth may be further acquired. As such, one or more control devices that most strongly correlate with the target value may be determined based on at least one of the optimum input variable value or a vector association array. Thus, at least one control device setting value for the one or more control devices may be ascertained based on a target path for achieving the target value. Accordingly, each control device may be commanded to implement a control device setting value.

  • Patent number: 10565893
Abstract: A method of providing visual feedback to a driver based on data collected during vehicle operation. A processor at the vehicle analyzes vehicle data, and determines when predetermined threshold values have been reached for particular parameters. Whenever such a threshold is reached, an audible indication is provided to the driver, indicating that the baseline has been exceeded. Certain parameters have at least two threshold values. When a first threshold value is reached, an alert is presented to the driver, but no data is recorded or reported. When a second threshold value is reached, another alert is presented to the driver, and data is recorded for reporting to a driver manager or supervisor. This approach provides a driver warning, that if they correct the triggering behavior, their supervisor is never notified of that behavior. However, if the behavior escalates, and the second threshold is breached, the behavior is recorded.

  • Publication number: 20190335262
Abstract: An acoustic device including a motor disposed in a housing having a non-porous elastomeric membrane disposed across an acoustic path defined by a sound port of the housing is disclosed. The motor may be embodied as MEMS transducer configured to generate an electrical signal responsive to an acoustic signal, or as some other electromechanical device. The membrane has a compliance that is 1 to 100 times a compliance of the acoustic device without the membrane, wherein the membrane prevents ingress of contaminants (e.g., solids, liquids or light) via the sound port while permitting propagation of the acoustic signal along the acoustic path without significant loss.

  • Publication number: 20190327563
Abstract: An acoustic apparatus and method produces an acoustic signal in response to an electrical input signal applied to an acoustic receiver. The acoustic signal is converted to an electrical output signal that is proportional to a sound pressure of the acoustic signal, using an electro-acoustic transducer. In some embodiments the apparatus and method determine whether there is a change in the acoustic signal indicative of a change in an acoustic load coupled to the receiver by comparing the electrical output signal to reference information. The change in acoustic load, in one example, is attributable to ear wax accumulation in an output of the acoustic receiver or acoustic passage in the ear canal of a user or is attributable to seal leakage.

  • Publication number: 20190303164
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for providing one or more virtual machines or one or more software containers provided by cloud services to manage a horticultural operation. The techniques include transmitting, from the image dispatcher service, the image data to a first computing instance that executes a first subprocess of an image processing pipeline. Using the first subprocess of the image processing pipeline, partially processed image data is generated from the image data. The partially processed image data resulting from the first subprocess is then transmitted from the first computing instance to a second computing instance that executes a second subprocess of the image processing pipeline. Thereafter, a fully image processed image associated with the image data is produced via at least the second subprocess of the image processing pipeline.

  • Publication number: 20190238994
Abstract: A pre-distorted electrical excitation signal is generated for an acoustic transducer having an armature and a non-linear transfer characteristic by applying an electrical input signal (x) representative of a desired acoustic output to a computable non-linear function that is a function of the electrical input signal (x). When applied to an input of the transducer, the pre-distorted electrical excitation signal results in an improved acoustic output signal.
