Patent number: 5946802Abstract: In a process for the manufacture of a hollow turbomachine blade in which die-forged and machined sheets are assembled and diffusion welded face to face after applying an antidiffusion coating to areas of the sheets where the assembly is to be expanded in forming the hollow blade, the welded assembly is subjected to a step of unsticking the coated areas of the sheets which are pressed together during the diffusion welding step, the unsticking step including subjecting the assembly to localized heating in a region where the intermediate sheet is provided with intercavity communication holes, and injecting pressurized gas into the welded assembly in a controlled manner to hot form a gas distribution duct in the locally heated region of the assembly to facilitate unsticking of the remainder of the coated areas. Apparatus for use in carrying out the unsticking step is also described.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1997Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignee: Societe Nationale d'Etude et de Construction de Moteurs d'Aviation "Snecma"Inventors: Gilles Michel George Louis Calle, Gilles Charles Klein

Patent number: 5896658Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a hollow blade for a turbomachine in which a plurality of primary sheet-like parts having anti-diffusion coatings in predefined areas are assembled face to face and diffusion welded together before being deformed to shape by pressurized gas and superplastic forming. The assembly, before being diffusion welded together, is subjected to a preheating treatment in an oven to remove the binder from the anti-diffusion coatings, and then, without moving the assembly, the interior of the assembly is evacuated while simultaneously progressively increasing the temperature at a rate V to a value T to produce a permanent plastic deformation of the parts, the interior of the assembly then being maintained in vacuo at the temperature T while an isostatic pressure is applied to the exterior of the assembly so as to produce a compacting of the anti-diffusion material and a prewelding of the facing areas which are not coated with the anti-diffusion material.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1997Date of Patent: April 27, 1999Assignee: Societe Nationale d'etude et de Construction de Moteurs d'Aviation "Snecma"Inventors: Gilles Michel Georges Louis Calle, Gilles Charles Klein

Patent number: 5872850Abstract: A system for enabling an information marketplace includes a central server which stores data in a memory element. The data may or may not be encrypted. Regardless of whether the data is encrypted the server may also store a table which associates data elements and nodes with an authorization value. If a node requests data for which the authorization value in the table gives the node authorization to access, the server transmits the data to the node. If the data is encrypted, the server may transmit the encrypted data or it may decrypt the data for the node before transmission. In other embodiments, no table is stored by the server. In these embodiments the data is encrypted using one or more encryption keys. When a node requests data the server transmits the encrypted data to the node. If the node does not have the proper encryption keys, it may request them from the server.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1997Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Saul Charles Klein, Max E. Patent number: 4335388Abstract: This specification discloses a multibeam antenna which produces a null at one or more specified points with greater frequency band width for a given null depth. For example, a ring of beams about the null are set to have a phase difference between adjacent beams of 360.degree. divided by the number of beams in the ring. The amplitude of each of the beams is chosen so that each such ring set is self-nulled at the intended null and any common change in the side lobes of all beams of a ring set at the null due to frequency change is substantially equal. Thus, even with change in frequency, the null depth and position is substantially unchanged.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1980Date of Patent: June 15, 1982Assignee: Ford Aerospace & Communications Corp.Inventors: William G. Scott, Edgar W. Matthews, Jr., Howard H. S. Luh, Charles A. Klein

Patent number: 3953939Abstract: A grill is attached over an opening in a building. The top of the grill, which is connected together by a cross member, is securely attached to the side of the building. The lowermost portion of the grill, which is also connected by a cross member, pivots about the upper or a central cross member. The lower portion of the grill is held over the opening and against the side of the building by a quick release locking mechanism operated from inside the building. Upon release of the quick release locking mechanism, the lower portion of the grill will be allowed to swing outward so that a person may leave the building through the opening in case of an emergency.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1974Date of Patent: May 4, 1976Inventor: Charles Klein
