  • Publication number: 20070157455
Abstract: A plurality of sets of clampable jaws are positioned on cooperating pairs of sub-towers, one of each pair moves along the x-axis and one along the y-axis. In using the apparatus, fenestration product frame members which have been precisely cut to a desired cut length are placed in the clampable jaws. The frame members are positioned so that their ends are in non-touching proximity to radiant heater and a limited length of the ends of the frame members melted and then quickly brought into contact to effect welding of the joints. The precision placement of the precisely cut frame members results in a low-flash window frame.

  • Publication number: 20050193656
Abstract: A spring clip having integral, self-penetrating attachment tangs and an orientation tab can be manually installed in a window opening formed by a foam core sandwiched by a pair of OSBs. A first planar surface has a second planar surface attached along one lateral edge thereof and oriented at an angle in the range between 60° and 85°. This spring finger deflects out of the way permitting the window's insertion, snapping back to engage a vertically extending flange on the window to retain it in the opening. A modified spring clip for use with solid wood headers and sills utilized with multi-unit windows is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20050016066
Abstract: An impact resistant tilt window assembly includes a window frame with side jambs that have legs that extend in the direction of the exterior of the frame, an upper sash, a lower sash that moves vertically and tilts inwardly and tilt latch assemblies that are positioned on the lower sash, each tilt latch assembly includes a latch bolt with a nose end that includes a notch that is sized to engage the associated jamb leg when the lower sash is in a vertical orientation. The notch has an interior leg that moves along an interior side of the jamb leg and an exterior leg that extends behind an exterior side of the jamb leg and moves along the jamb leg when the sash moves vertically. The window assembly may further include U-shaped reinforcing inserts that are positioned within the jambs such that the tilt latch assemblies engage the inserts when the lower sash is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6632119
Abstract: The present invention relates to a winding device and a flying toy ornithopter device which employs the winding device. The flying toy ornithopter comprises a hollow body which simulates the appearance of a bird, insect or flying machine. A pair of wings are provided which oscillate, the wings are powered by the stored energy of a wound rubber band. One end of the rubber band is connected to a hook mounted in the tail of the hollow body, the other end of the rubber band is mounted to a winding device mounted near the head of the hollow body. The winding device comprises a frame which has a generally oval shape and conforms to the cross-sectional of the hollow body to mount therein, a central annular bore and a pair of lugs located at the periphery of the frame to which the wings are attached; a pin projects from the frame toward the front of the hollow body for the attachment of a locking lever.
