As a customer scans his/her items for purchase, images of a bag containing the items are captured and sent to the computing device to be digitally processed. Based on the processing, the computing device identifies the item(s) the customer intends to purchase, and determines whether there are any other items in the container that are different from the first item. If so, the computing device outputs a signal indicating the presence of the second item in the container.
