  • Patent number: 7931317
Abstract: A reusable trailer mounted attenuator with a collapsible scissor frame assembly supported by front, intermediate and rear vertical frames. A self-adjusting shock absorber with staged metering is attached to the scissor frame assembly and controls its collapse under impact in a manner that deceleration of an impacting vehicle does not exceed permitted rates irrespective of the weight and speed of the impacting vehicle within the design range. Guides are provided to permit the scissor frame assembly to collapse without twisting and a replaceable strike plate with vertical fins concealed with a cover plate is attached to the rear vertical frame.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 2008
Date of Patent: April 26, 2011

  • Patent number: 4643925
Abstract: Polyester articles, particularly bottles and cans, which have good oxygen and carbon dioxide permeability resistance are very useful for packaging foods and beverages. This invention discloses multi-layer articles which have excellent oxygen and carbon dioxide permeability resistance. These multi-layer articles have at least one layer which is made from a polyisophthalate, a polyisophthalate copolymer, a melt blend of polyethylene isophthalate with polyethylene terephthalate, or a high molecular weight polyester resin which is prepared by solid state polymerizing a polyethylene isophthalate prepolymer and a polyethylene terephthalate prepolymer simultaneously together. Such multi-layer articles also have at least one layer which is made from a polyterephthalate compound or a copolymer thereof.

  • Patent number: 4604257
Abstract: A multi-layer polyester article, and particularly a beverage bottle having good oxygen and carbon dioxide permeability resistance. At least one layer of the article is made from polyisophthalate and copolymers thereof. The multi-layer articles find particular use as packaging materials, films, and molded containers such as for alcoholic beverages. Various colorants can be added to either one or more of the layers to impart a desired color to the article.
