  • Patent number: 5573625
Abstract: A cured rubber tire has adhered thereto a layer of heated and mixed, productive urethane composition fluid sidewall material which has been flowed from a nozzle into a groove in the sidewall of a shaped tire. The tire is rotated under the nozzle a distance equal to the circumferential length of the groove so that the ends of the layer may be joined after which the flow of productive urethane composition sidewall material is terminated.

  • Patent number: 5454894
Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a strip of white rubber which is added to the otherwise black tire sidewall. The strip is molded separately from the other tire components and is added to the unvulcanized tire at the tire curing press. The strip is pressed into a recess in the sidewall forming surface of the upper tire mold half by a carrier ring which swings into the tire press with the green tire loader. The strip of white rubber is then affixed to the tire during molding of the tire.

  • Patent number: 4201744
Abstract: A tire prepared by molding in one or more first molds of at least two separate annular tire body parts of an elastomer composition and stabilizing same, a set of said tire body parts forming a complete tire body exclusive of tread, transferring said parts to a second annular mold which positions them in the same relationship to one another that they will have in the completed tire and introducing into said second mold a predetermined quantity of an elastomer composition to join said parts and form an annular tread about the crown thereof.

  • Patent number: 4124343
Abstract: An injector mounted on a carriage having an elevator is movable along a row of conventional mold press units each having an article mold, and is movable vertically to register with a selected mold. The press units and the molds therein are separate and independent of one another. Injection parameters are preset and activated upon registry of the injector with a selected mold, independently of the mold-to-mold sequence selected. Conventional mold press units (clamps) are simply modified to cooperate with the injector. The foregoing abstract is not to be taken as limiting the invention of this application, and in order to understand the full nature and extent of the technical disclosure of this application, reference must be made to the accompanying drawing and the following detailed description.
