  • Patent number: 9901076
Abstract: Devices, apparatus, systems and methods for providing a double bearing, not noisy, injection molded rotatable exercise wheels for small animals, including marsupium's such as sugar gliders, as well as mice, rats, gerbils and dwarf hamsters, and the like, with no exposed mounting hardware. The exercise wheels can have a netted running surface which safely holds animals in the wheels, and allows for waste to fall out from the wheels. The wheel can be supported by a U shaped stand over a flat surface. The wheel can be attached to an inside of a cage by a cross mount having hooks.

  • Patent number: 7266469
Abstract: A method and an article of manufacture for determining a rate of change of orientation of a plurality of fibers disposed in a fluid are provided. The method includes determining a first tensor indicative of the rate of change of orientation of the plurality of fibers in the fluid in a predetermined region due to rigid body rotation of the plurality of fibers and the fluid. The method further includes determining a second tensor indicative of the rate of change or orientation of the plurality of fibers in the fluid in the predetermined region due to deformation of the plurality of fibers and the fluid in the predetermined region, utilizing a first scalar value that reduces the rate of change of orientation of the plurality of fibers due to deformation of the plurality of fibers and the fluid. The method further includes determining a third tensor indicative of a total rate of change of orientation of the plurality of fibers based on the first and second tensors, wherein the third tensor is an objective tensor.

  • Patent number: 6607857
Abstract: A composite separator plate for a fuel cell having a low-carbon loading and a high-polymer loading is disclosed. The separator plate composition includes a percentage of conductive fibrous filler having a relatively high aspect-ratio oriented through the thickness of the plate to achieve desired electrical and thermal conductivity requirements. A method of manufacturing the fuel separator plate having such fibers disposed in a through-plane orientation is also disclosed. The method includes forming a separator plate having a land height for orienting the fibers in a desired through-plane direction, then removing a portion of the land height to obtained the desired geometric configuration for the separator plate.

  • Patent number: 4702687
Abstract: A food product forming device is provided with a dispensing nozzle through which the food product, in slurry form, is continually fed to the outlet end thereof where a sleeve including a cut off sleeve and an outer forming tube are mounted about the exterior of the nozzle so as to be movable towards and away from the dispensing end of the nozzle; the sleeve is provided with passages for receiving and distributing a discharging fluid to the food engaging portion of the sleeve to assist in discharging the food product from the lower end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4584946
Abstract: A folding table especially adapted for use with a central pole supporting it, as under a beach umbrella, has a central hub with provision for detachably mounting at any desired level on a pole and a radial array of spokes pivotally mounted on the hub and supporting as a table surface, a disk of flexible material. In use position the spokes are radially deployed and rest against an annular flange of the hub, where a nut on a threaded coaxial portion of the hub holds them. The hub can be mounted so that the spokes fold upward for storage, or the hub can be inverted so that the spokes fold downward for storage. In folded position the table can easily be carried separate from or with a pole. The table surface or disk of flexible material can be easily removed and replaced with the spokes in folded position.

  • Patent number: 4170319
Abstract: A system for mixing a shot of at least two fluid components in which the components are stored in accumulators and are supplied simultaneously therefrom to the input ports of a mixing device. The fluid components are stored in the accumulators at preselected pressures which will tend to assure that the fluids are supplied approximately at a desired preselected volume flow rate ratio. Positive displacement devices are placed in the lines which supply the fluids from the accumulators to the mixing device, such devices being mechanically linked through gear linkage having a gear ratio selected in accordance with the preselected volume flow rate ratio. During operation, the positive displacement devices assure that the preselected volume flow rate ratio of the fluids is maintained at the desired ratio throughout the entire shot.

  • Patent number: 4034966
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a mixture of solid particles of two different types wherein the particles of one type are electrically charged with a charge of one polarity, e.g., a positive polarity, and the particles of the other type are electrically charged with a charge of the opposite polarity,e.g., a negative polarity. The charged particles are combined over a selected time period during which they retain their mobility so that at the end of such time period they form a mixture the characteristic of which is better than a random mixture, i.e., the ratio of the number of particles of one type to the number of particles of the other type in each of a plurality of samples thereof tends to be the same as the ratio of the number of particles of said one type to the number of particles of the other type in the overall mixture.
