  • Patent number: 10415802
Abstract: A linear lighting fixture abutment mechanism including a first portion having a first structure and a second portion having a second structure each portion mounted on a longitudinal wall of respective lighting fixture housings, the first portion and the second portion located at a position proximate to a respective lateral edge of the lighting fixtures. The first structure and the second structure configured to interlock together to retain respective lateral edges of the first and the second lighting fixtures in rigid proximity. The abutment mechanism device configured to generate opposing longitudinal forces on the first and the second lighting fixtures, the opposing longitudinal forces generated by a force that is at least one of movement along a lateral axis and a moment about the lateral axis.

  • Patent number: 9970646
Abstract: A heatsink having integrated electrical and base contacts for use with a light emitting diode (LED) light source. In some embodiments, a heatsink assembly for an LED lamp includes a first metallic heatsink component having a first wall portion and a first electrical contact, and a second metallic heatsink component having a second wall portion and a second, separate contact portion. A non-electrically conducting heatsink housing is configured to house the first wall portion and the second wall portion of the first and second heatsink components such that the first electrical contact extends from the non-electrically conducting heatsink housing and the second contact portion extends from the plastic housing in a manner to facilitate connection to hot and neutral lines of a power source.

  • Patent number: 8864339
Abstract: A lighting device that uses one or more LEDs, an optical element (e.g., diffuser), and a heat sink to provide thermal management is provided. The overall shape of the lighting device, particularly the heat sink, can be configured to imitate the appearance of a traditional incandescent candelabra lamp. One or more features are also provided to assist with the conduction of heat away from the LED(s) and to the heat sink. The lighting device can provide improved lumen output and light distribution.

  • Publication number: 20140160762
Abstract: This disclosure contemplates embodiments of a diffuser element for use with lighting devices that utilize directional light sources, e.g., light-emitting diode (LED) devices. The embodiments utilize a shell wall that forms a volume diffuser with a non-uniform material thickness. The variations in the thickness afford the diffuser with optical characteristics that can improve the distribution of light. In one example, lighting devices that deploy the diffuser element and LED devices distribute light with an optical intensity distribution similar to an incandescent bulb.
