  • Patent number: 11467008
Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for receiving an indication that a vehicle has begun accelerating from a stationary state. A computing system sets, in response to having received the indication that the vehicle has begun accelerating from the stationary state, an orientation value generated using a gyroscope to a default orientation value. The computing system repeatedly updates the orientation value generated using the gyroscope, based on changes in gyroscope orientation that occurred after the computing system set the orientation value to the default orientation value. The computing system determines that the updated orientation value satisfies criteria that indicates that the vehicle is likely to encounter or has encountered a dangerous situation. The computing system outputs a signal to cause the vehicle to employ a safety measure.

  • Publication number: 20190244310
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and instrumentation for predictive and adaptive controllers devised to ensure uninterrupted operation of standalone electrical supply systems powered by sustainable energy sources. The device, herein referred to as SelfMaster, is an expert system that manages the energy conversion, storage, and consumption in an isolated electric grid based on data collected during past and current operation of the system and predicted future states of the primary energy sources, storage level, and demand. The sustainable primary energy sources managed by SelfMaster may include, but are not limited to, wind force, solar radiation, and biofuels. The energy storage system is a combination of batteries, hydrogen, biofuel, and hot water tanks. Electric demand consists of critical, non-critical, and deferrable loads identified according to the activities supported by the supply system.

  • Patent number: 10208218
Abstract: A method of inkjet printing includes ink jetting an aqueous inkjet ink composition to form a white printed image on a substrate. The aqueous inkjet ink composition comprises particles of titanium dioxide that are present in an amount of at least 4 to 15 weight % and the particles have a 95th percentile particle size of less than 200 nm and a 50th percentile particle size of less than 130 nm. The titanium dioxide particles are dispersed within the aqueous inkjet ink composition using a dispersing polymer that is a styrene-(meth)acrylic acid polymer, styrene-maleic anhydride polymer, or styrene-maleic acid polymer and the weight ratio of the titanium dioxide particles to the dispersing polymer is from 19:1 to and including 2:1.

  • Patent number: 10059853
Abstract: Inkjet printing is carried out on a substrate having a topmost layer comprising aqueous soluble multivalent metal cations and a hydrophilic polymeric binder. An aqueous inkjet ink composition is drawn from a main fluid supply as a continuous stream that is broken into both printing drops and non-printing drops, forming a white printed image on the substrate with the printing drops. The non-printing drops are collected and returned to the main fluid supply. The aqueous inkjet ink composition comprises particles of titanium dioxide in an amount of at least 4 to 15 weight %. The particles of titanium dioxide have a 95th percentile particle size of less than 200 nm, a 50th percentile particle size of less than 130 nm, and are dispersed using a dispersing polymer comprising acidic groups. The weight ratio of the particles of titanium dioxide to the dispersing polymer is 19:1 to 2:1.

  • Patent number: 9851823
Abstract: A first polymer latex and second polymer latex can be mixed to form a dried primer layer on a substrate to adhere patterned materials having fine lines. The first polymer latex comprises a first polymer and a first surfactant such that a dried coating of the first polymer latex has a surface polarity of at least 50%. The second polymer latex comprises a second polymer and a second surfactant such that a dried coating of the second polymer latex has a surface polarity of less than or equal to 27%. Moreover, a dried coating of the mixture has a surface polarity of at least 15% and up to and including 50%. Primed substrates are useful for preparing electrically-conductive articles having electrically-conductive fine lines directly on a dried primer layer by applying a patterned material to a substrate. Such articles can be used as touch screen displays in various electronic devices.
