Abstract: A camera for measuring the distance to an object is combined with a laser range measuring device by using a beam splitting device so as to simultaneously take the image of the object and measure the distance between the camera and the object. Using the focal length of the lens, the width and height of the image on the image detector, and the distance between the camera and the object, it is then possible to compute the width and height of the object according to the geometrical optics. By means of obtaining the speed of the image moving on the image detector, the camera of the invention further computes the speed of the object which is projected on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens.

Abstract: An optical axis adjusting structure for a range finder including a range finder that includes a laser emitter, a telescope, and a laser receiver. The laser emitter is provided on the optical axis adjusting device such that a laser beam emitted thereby travels through a predetermined part of the interior of the telescope to project from the range finder. The optical axis adjusting device includes a first coupling portion that is secured on a predetermined part of the range finder, a second coupling portion having a predetermined part secured to the laser emitter with the other part provided on the first coupling portion such that it can reciprocatingly displace along a first direction, and at least one securing element provided between the first and second coupling portions to limit the relative position of the first and second coupling portions.
