  • Patent number: 9811483
Abstract: An apparatus and method for configuring a serial communication hub are disclosed herein. A serial communication hub includes an upstream port, a plurality of downstream ports, and a port controller. The port controller is configured to: arrange each of a first of the downstream ports and a second of the downstream ports to individually operate as a first type of serial communication interface; and to arrange the first of the downstream ports and the second of the downstream ports to operate in combination as a second type of serial communication interface.

  • Publication number: 20150319108
Abstract: A re-driver circuit includes a first channel comprising a receiver to receive an input signal from a first port to the re-driver circuit and a driver to receive a signal from the receiver and drive an output signal of the re-driver circuit through a second port. A second channel is also provided and is in parallel with the first channel and includes a bidirectional path switch. A channel control unit determines whether the input signal is indicative of a higher speed mode or of a lower speed mode and enables one of the first and second channels while disabling the other of the channels based on the determined mode. The first and second channels share the first and second ports.

  • Patent number: 4362443
Abstract: A reversible air seal construction for a carrier used in a pneumatic tube system, for use on a carrier of the type having a pair of air seal rings surrounding the carrier body spaced from each other and from the ends of the carrier. The reversibility is accomplished by means of spacers that may be positioned either outside of or between the two air seal rings so that two distinct spacings may be accomplished between the two air seal rings. The positioning of the spacer relative to the air seal ring is facilitated by means of an end adapter unit carrying a closure construction and arrangement for an open end of the tubular material-conveying carrier for the pneumatic tube system. The adapter unit houses a pivot mechanism including a cam member integrally molded with and forming circumferential axis of rotation for a disclike end cap which forms the closure for the tubular material-conveying carrier.

  • Patent number: 4345997
Abstract: A contactor media for removing waste from water comprising at least two mated discs. Each disc having parallel raised ribs separated by parallel inverted ribs in an alternating rib-inverted rib pattern. Every rib and inverted rib has a series of uniformly spaced apart recesses with the recesses of the ribs located on the side of the disc opposite the recesses of the inverted ribs. The mated discs have the recesses of the inverted ribs of one disc interfitted with the recesses of the ribs of the other disc, and the two mated discs form crossing chordal channels for the flow of waste water therein and the deposit of waste on the surfaces thereof.
