  • Patent number: 6718263
Abstract: The present invention utilizes a combination of local area networks and hard-wired wide area networks which communicate with mobile units wirelessly. An alternate embodiment uses a hard wired communication from a mobile unit to a base computer. The wireless local area network is comprised of a base computer unit connected wirelessly to single or multiple mobile units while also being connected to a hard-wired wide area network (such as the internet). The base unit either stores or routes packet data to a wide area network super router that, in turn, routes packets to the base unit computer where the packet data should ultimately reside. The present invention utilizes integrated software and hardware apparatus to identify, track and report tax-deductible vehicle travel routes including actual mileage, stops and routes driven.

  • Patent number: 6472976
Abstract: The location systems are made up of a monitoring and control center, repeaters and tags. System communications are preferably at frequencies in the 900 MHz band. The center and computers utilize both commercial and custom software developed for use in and by the system. The center, repeaters and tags can also include a sensor(s) and a panic “switch” and/or other informational input mechanism(s). The coordinates of the repeaters and control station transmitters are stored in tag memory. The location of the tag(s) in time and space is by use of the stored coordinates in memory and by calculations based on time phase measurements of transmissions from the control center an/or the repeaters.

  • Patent number: 5748148
Abstract: A positional information storage and retrieval system includes a positional detection unit transmitting positional information of at least one subject moving within an operational environment of the system, a plurality of receiver/transmitter units and a processor unit. Coordinate information of the receiver/transmitter units is received by the positional information unit and used to determine the positional information according to triangulation or other techniques embodied within the positional detection unit. The positional information is transmitted to the receiver/transmitter units which, in turn, transmit the positional information to the processor unit. A method for designing such a system includes selecting operational frequencies of the receiver/transmitter units and positioning the receiver/transmitter units throughout the operational environment such that distortion and attenuation of the positional information are minimized.
