  • Patent number: 10408746
Abstract: A system and method for determining impurities in a beverage grade gas such as CO2 or N2 relies on a coupling of FTIR analysis and UV fluorescence detection. Conversion of reduced sulphur present in some impurities to SO2 can be conducted using a furnace. In some cases, CO2 % also is determined.

  • Patent number: 10404043
Abstract: A portable motorized racking device and system are disclosed for remotely racking (inserting or removing) drawout circuit breakers. The racking device provides a portable, motorized device that can be hand carried to a work location and affixed to the circuit breaker without the need of any modification to the breaker or its enclosure. In one embodiment, among others, the torque that is required to operate the breaker racking mechanism is provided by an electrically powered gearmotor. Attached to the output shaft of the gearmotor is a socket that engages the circuit breaker racking screw. An anti-rotation plate engages a feature, such as a bolt head, opening, hole, or edge, on the racking screw support frame or the breaker face to prevent the gearmotor from rotating while the socket rotates the racking screw.

  • Patent number: 10401336
Abstract: A sample analysis method includes directing a sample that contains one or more SVOC components to a GC column to temporally separate components present in the sample. Output gas from the GC column is expanded into a sample cell. The sample cell is held at a temperature and pressure that are lower than the temperature and pressure at an outlet of the GC column. The volume of the sample cell is sufficiently large for maintaining the one or more SVOC components in a gaseous phase. Infrared spectra of the components in the sample cell are obtained using a Fourier transform infrared spectrometry system.

  • Patent number: 10330702
Abstract: A testing device for wafer level testing of IC circuits is disclosed. An upper and lower pin (22, 62) are configured to slide relatively to each other and are held in electrically biased contact by an elastomer (80). To prevent rotation of the pins in the pin guide, a walled recess in the bottom of the pin guide engages flanges on the pins. In another embodiment, the pin guide maintains rotational alignment by being fitted around the pin profile or having projections abutting the pin. The pin guide (12) is maintained in alignment with the retainer 14 by establishing a registration corner (506) and driving the guide into the corner by elastomers in at least one diagonally opposite corner.

  • Patent number: 10082315
Abstract: An adaptable base of the HVAC unit can allow an HVAC unit to align and seal with multiple duct opening configurations. Such opening configurations may be different footprints in different HVAC systems, such as may be employed for example in different roof curbs of rooftop HVAC units. The adaptable base includes a base plate, a supply air duct opening, a return air duct opening, where there is at least one additional opening for one or both of the supply air opening and the return air duct opening. Each opening has a seal around its perimeter. A seal is also arranged and located on the base plate about a perimeter around the supply air duct opening(s) and the return air duct opening(s). A cover can be connected to close one or more openings that are not being used with the unit.

  • Publication number: 20180154284
Abstract: Methods of separating a multiphase mixture are provided. The multiphase flow can include petrochemicals. The multiphase flow is flowed through a vane assembly having a plurality of curved passages. The multiphase mixture is gradually decelerated such that it collides with surfaces of the vane assembly at relatively oblique angles and at lower relative speeds. Such a configuration can reduce droplet breakup which, in turn, can preserve larger droplet sizes that are more likely to settle to a liquid bed below the inlet diverter due to gravity.

  • Patent number: 9983091
Abstract: A method for identifying a leak in a pressure system. The method includes receiving, from a pressure sensor, pressure data of a fluid contained in the pressure system, determining a slope and curvature of the pressure data, determining a ratio of the curvature to the slope of the pressure data, and monitoring the ratio over a period of time. The method also includes, as a result of a non-constant component of the ratio exceeding a predetermined threshold, generating an indication that a leak may be present in the pressure system, or as a result of the ratio including no non-constant component or a non-constant component below the predetermined threshold, generating an indication that no leak is present in the pressure system.

  • Patent number: 9945389
Abstract: A modular fan assembly includes a center hub assembly and a first blade attached to the center hub assembly. The center hub assembly includes a first plate having an outer edge, and a second plate having an outer edge. The first blade has a mounting pad and a working portion. The mounting pad is positioned in between the first plate and the second plate. The working portion extends beyond the outer edges of the first and second plates of the center hub assembly. A thickness of the first blade is smaller proximate the outer edge of the first plate than at the mounting pad to create a first gap between the first blade and the first plate at the outer edge of the first plate.

  • Publication number: 20180066672
Abstract: A modular fan assembly includes a center hub assembly and a first blade attached to the center hub assembly. The center hub assembly includes a first plate and a second plate each having an outer edge and a planar capture surface. The planar capture surfaces of the second plate is arranged parallel to the planar capture surface of the first plate. The first blade includes a mounting pad and a working portion. The mounting pad has opposite, parallel planar surfaces positioned in contact with the respective planar capture surfaces of the first and second plates. The working portion extends beyond the outer edges of the first and second plates. A thickness of the first blade is smaller proximate the outer edge of the first plate than at the mounting pad to create a first gap between the first blade and the first plate at the outer edge.

  • Patent number: 9851248
Abstract: An intracavity laser absorption infrared spectroscopy system for detecting trace analytes in vapor samples. The system uses a spectrometer in communications with control electronics, wherein the control electronics contain an analyte database that contains absorption profiles for each analyte the system is used to detect. The system can not only detect the presence of specific analytes, but identify them as well. The spectrometer uses a hollow cavity waveguide that creates a continuous loop inside of the device, thus creating a large path length and eliminating the need to mechanically adjust the path length to achieve a high Q-factor. In a preferred embodiment, the laser source may serve as the detector, thus eliminating the need for a separate detector.

  • Patent number: 9829017
Abstract: A mounting device enables detachable mounting of equipment against a face of a motor control center (MCC) unit. The face of the MCC unit has a plurality of protruding ports and an operating switch extending outwardly from the face. The protruding ports are designed to enable installation and removal of the MCC unit from a housing. The operating switch is designed to enable switching of electrical power within the MCC unit. The mounting device has a plate or bracket, a mechanism for attaching and un-attaching the plate or bracket to at least one of the protruding ports, and screw holes or other features to enable mounting of equipment to enable the equipment to engage the protruding ports, the operating switch, or both.

  • Patent number: 9817026
Abstract: A testing device for wafer level testing of IC circuits is disclosed. An upper and lower pin (22, 62) are configured to slide relatively to each other and are held in electrically biased contact by an elastomer (80). The elastomer is precompressed from its natural rest state between a top (22) plate and a bottom (70). Pre compression improves the resilient response of the pins. The pin crowns (40) are maintained relatively coplanar by the engagement of at least one flange (44a-b) against an up-stop surface 90 of plate 20, thereby insuring coplanarity of the crowns. The pin guide (12) is maintained in alignment with the retainer 14 by establishing a registration corner (506) and driving the guide into the corner by elastomers in at least one diagonally opposite corner.
