  • Publication number: 20050041432
Abstract: A modular, linear-type lighting fixture may include an elongate housing having lengthwise ends, and a pair of endplates adapted for sealing attachment to either lengthwise end of the housing, each of the endplates having respective perimeter surfaces adapted for attachment to any one of a bridge adapted for angularly-directable extension of the housing, a bridge adapted for linear extension of the housing, and an endcap. A modular lighting fixture may include first and second elongate housings each having ends, pairs of endplates for being respectively mated with the first and second ends of the first and second elongate housings, the endplates each having a rim, and a bridge adapted for joining one of the endplates of the first elongate housing with one of the endplates of the second elongate housing by sealing cooperation with the respective rims thereof. A lighting fixture may have one or more isolated raceways therein.

  • Publication number: 20040022720
Abstract: A process for separating a hydrogen halide from a mixture comprising one or more organic compounds and a hydrogen halide, which process comprises the steps of (1) contacting said mixture with an amine hydrohalide solvent and (2) separating the one or more organic compounds from the amine hydrohalide solvent.

  • Publication number: 20030223231
Abstract: A lighting fixture which includes an elongate modular lineal section fabricated of an extruded high-strencth metal alloy. The extrusion comprises an elongate generally flat base integrally joined at a pair of opposed lingitudinal edges thereof to upwardly extending sidewalls. The sidewalls are formed at opposed respective upper edge portions thereof with channel-like upwardly opening grooves for matingly receiving therewithin laterally spaced elongate free edge portions of a lens of a high strength plastics composition. The lens bridges opposed sidewalls of the extruded metal base to complete a lighting fixture housing section or module open at each end. Configured for matingly engaging and for positive attachment to each end of the housing section is a skeletal bridge-like end plate formed with through framed openings.

  • Publication number: 20030157009
Abstract: A process for removing a (hydro)haloalkene impurity from a product stream containing that impurity and a desired compound is described. The process comprises contacting the product stream with a solid adsorbent comprising pores having openings which have a size across their largest dimension in the range of from about 7 Å to about 10 Å. The process is particularly suited to the removal of (hydro)halopropene impurities from saturated hydrofluorocarbons such as a tetrafluoroethane, a pentafluoropropane, a hexafluoropropane or a heptafluoropropane.

  • Patent number: 6160188
Abstract: A process for the production of a hydrofluoroalkane is disclosed which comprises contacting a halofluorocarbon or hydrohalofluorocarbon with hydrogen at elevated temperature in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst which comprises palladium and an alkali metal carried on a support.

  • Patent number: 6042251
Abstract: There is described a multi-configurational, multi-functional electrical lighting fixture for high-abuse application and structured for surface mounting. The fixture includes a lens of U.V. stabilized, high impact-resistant, injection molded polycarbonate plastics, integrally formed with two selective, separate and distinct, high-performance reflector/refractor surface systems carried by the single lens, as separate zonal areas. The first system generates a long and narrow "throw", and the second system a short and wide "throw". A molded, opaque "eyelid" provides optimum lamp shielding and controls light distribution. The lens surmounts a lens base to which it is secured by means of unique internal, integrally-molded lugs received in cooperating hook-shaped slots. An 0-ring gasket establishes a water-tight seal. Unlocking of the assembly is deterred by means of a single, tamper-resistant screw. The lens base is mounted on a deep casting, with or without an interposed cast aluminum baseplate.

  • Patent number: 5731675
Abstract: An apparatus (10) and a method for controlling a power window drive motor (12). A first RC circuit (110, 106) is used to provide a first time limit and a second RC circuit (114, 106) is used to provide a second time limit. A switch (28) is actuatable to provide a signal having a time duration. A logic circuit (132) determines whether the time duration of the signal from the switch (28) exceeds the first time limit. The motor (12) is operated to move a window (14) through a predetermined range of movement responsive to the time duration of the signal from the switch (28) exceeding the first time limit. The logic circuit (132) determines whether the time duration of operation of the motor (12) exceeds the second time limit. The motor (12) is stopped responsive to the time duration of operation of the motor exceeding the second time limit. The second time limit is set independent of the first time limit using two exchangeable resistors (110, 114).

  • Patent number: 5416683
Abstract: A lighting fixture for overhead mounting to produce a generally-rectangular, outwardly and downwardly directed light illumination over a broad areal expanse. The fixture includes a pair of back-to-back arranged reflectors depending from a supporting overhead housing and defining arcuate, generally-parabolic sections flaring outwardly horizontally of one another from opposite sides of a lamp of the fixture. A refractor of polymeric organic composition overlying and protectively capping the lamp and the reflectors diffuses, distributes and directs illumination from the lamp, from the parabolic reflectors and from a reflector plate located above the reflectors to provide an expansive, essentially rectangular-beam light pattern of uniform illumination. Physically faceted upper sections constituting flattened areas of the parabolic reflectors enhance the distribution of light to ensure more even illumination patterns and eliminate "dark" zones.
