  • Publication number: 20240122383
Abstract: A flower pot mounting assembly for mounting a flower pot to a hand rail includes a gripping unit that is positionable to extend substantially around a hand rail of a deck railing such that the gripping unit is secured to the hand rail. A stem is coupled to and extends upwardly from the gripping unit. A spike is positionable on the stem such that the spike extends upwardly from the stem thereby facilitating the spike to pass through a drain hole in a flower pot. In this way the flower pot is secured to the hand rail to inhibit the flower pot from being blown over by wind.

  • Publication number: 20240076365
Abstract: This invention relates to crystals of the human Gremlin-1 protein, and the human Gremlin-1 protein in complex with an inhibitory antibody. The invention also relates to the structure of human Gremlin-1 (on its own, or in complex with the antibody) and uses of these structures in screening for agents which modulate Gremlin-1 activity. The invention further provides antibodies which bind an allosteric inhibitory site on Gremlin-1, together with pharmaceutical compositions and medical uses of such antibodies and agents identified by the screening methods.

  • Publication number: 20070212194
Abstract: A method facilitates assembling a gas turbine engine assembly including at least a first member and a second member. The method comprises inserting a threaded fastener through an opening formed in a flange, and providing at least one shank nut including a flanged mating end, an opposite non-mating end, and a body extending therebetween. The body includes an internal surface, an external surface, and a centerline extending between the body ends. The flanged mating end includes a substantially planar exterior surface that is aligned perpendicularly to the centerline and an annular groove that extends from the exterior surface at least partially towards the non-mating end. The method also comprises securing the assembly together such that the mating end is positioned flush against the flange and such that the threaded fastener extends at least partially into a bore extending through the shank nut and defined by the shank nut internal surface.

  • Patent number: 7096637
Abstract: A display system and structure is disclosed generally comprising a vertical post assembly and a horizontal beam assembly coupled thereto, wherein the beam assembly includes a beam, a housing, and a plate assembly extractable from the housing, which plate assembly has at least two plates, which, when separated, secure the beam assembly to the post assembly. In some embodiments, the plates have ridges that fit into a channel in the post assembly. In some embodiments, the post assembly includes a spline with a slot, and the plates have tongues which fit into the slot.

  • Publication number: 20020050205
Abstract: There is disclosed a fluid trap (125, 225) for use in wind instruments and particularly bagpipes. A problem exists in that during playing a player may tend to secrete oral fluids such as saliva into a blow pipe (15). This fluid may thence tend to descend within the blow pipe (15) through a blow pipe stock (20) into a bag (10), and even down into a chanter (40). To address this problem the fluid trap (125, 225) for use in bagpipes (5) comprises a hollow tubular body (130, 230) adapted to be received within a blow pipe stock (20) of the bagpipes (5).

  • Patent number: 5054907
Abstract: An ophthalmic diagnostic instrument determines the shape of the cornea through projection of an image onto the cornea through the optics of the diagnostic instrument. The instrument and the method of the invention involve folding a projected pattern of discrete separated point light sources so that the pattern is projected toward the eye coaxially with return collected light reflected off the cornea. The instrument avoids any need for a pattern light source directly adjacent to the eye, and provides the surgeon or other eye care specialist with a real time image accurately displaying the shape of the cornea. The surgeon is thus able to monitor the corneal shape prior to surgery, to monitor its changes during the course of the surgery, and to further monitor the cornea in post operative stages.
