  • Publication number: 20080282964
Abstract: A caution flag apparatus for mounting on a vehicle which includes in one embodiment, a pipe bracket hinged to the side of the vehicle and pivotally attached to a flag storage pipe or tube which receives a flag and flag rod. A flag rod bracket carries the flag rod at one end and the opposite end of the flag rod bracket is attached to a hinged bracket carrying a conventional stop sign. A conventional drive motor is mounted on the side of the vehicle and causes the hinged bracket, stop sign, flag rod bracket, flag rod, pipe bracket and flag storage pipe to selectively pivot inwardly and outwardly of the vehicle in an arc. Extension of the flag storage pipe outwardly of the vehicle effects extension of the flag and the free end of the flag rod from the flag storage pipe into a deployed configuration in or near the lane of an oncoming or passing automobile.

  • Patent number: 5180126
Abstract: A leaf caddy characterized in a preferred embodiment by a bag support frame fitted with telescoping side frame members for adjusting the dimensions of the frame and a pivoting knuckle which carries a fixed or telescoping support for orienting the frame in a desired position. The frame is designed to receive and mount the mouth of a plastic bag of selected size, wherein the mouth or lip of the bag is attached to the frame by tension in the frame and contact between the bag lip, the pivoting knuckle and the support.

  • Patent number: 4565152
Abstract: A safety flag bus, which includes a spring-loaded recoil pulley carrying a length of cable extending from the pulley around a bushing attached to the hinge mechanism of a conventional stop arm attached to the bus. The cable extends through one end of a flag storage pipe attached to the stop arm and through a slot in the pipe, around a pulley attached to the flared opposite end of the pipe, to a point of fixed attachment to the bus. A flexible flag rod extends into the flared end of the flag storage pipe and one end of the rod is secured to the cable extending through the pipe, while the other end carries a flag normally located inside the pipe when the device is in retracted configuration. Activation causes extension of the flag storage pipe outwardly of the bus, extension of the cable from the recoil pulley and projection of a portion of the flag rod from the flag storage pipe to extend the flag outside of the flared end.
