Abstract: Thermoregulatory apparel includes garments, for close-fitting skin-contacting wear having, in preferred embodiments, a base fabric of Coolmax.sup.cm high moisture evaporation fabric having one or more insulating panels of Thermax.sup.cm or Thermastat.sup.cm hollow core fiber fabric having moisture wicking capability and applied to the inner side of the garment for skin contact at selected areas of the body where muscle protection is desired. The insulating panels maintain body heat in the protected muscles while evaporative cooling is encouraged by wicking of perspiration away from the body for evaporation from the outer Coolmax.sup.cm fabric. Alternative fabric choices and various garment combinations may be utilized.

Abstract: An improved collecting apparatus for small aquatic or airborne organisms such as plankton, larval fish, insects, etc. The improvement constitutes an apertured removal container within which is retained a collecting bag, and which is secured at the apex of a conical collecting net. Such collectors are towed behind a vessel or vehicle with the open end of the conical net facing forward for trapping the aquatic or airborne organisms within the collecting bag, while allowing the water or air to pass through the apertures in the container. The container is readily removable from the collecting net whereby the collecting bag can be quickly removed and replaced for further sample collection. The collecting bag is provided with means for preventing the bag from being pulled into the container by the water or air flowing therethrough.

Abstract: A candle lamp made up of a light transmitting, heat resistant chimney that contains and supports a vertically moveable candle holder connected to a candle lifter that extends down through an opening in the bottom of the chimney. A suitable combustion air supply opening is provided in the lower area of the chimney, the chimney typically having a top opening that is substantially smaller than the maximum chimney width.
