  • Patent number: 9633458
Abstract: In a graphics processing pipeline, a processing unit establishes a bounding box around a polygon in order to identify sample points that are covered by the polygon. For a given sample point included within the bounding box, the processing unit constructs a set of lines that intersect at the sample point, where each line in the set of lines is parallel to at least one side of the polygon. When all vertices of the polygon reside on one side of at least one line in the set of lines, the processing unit may reduce the size of the bounding box to exclude the sample point.

  • Publication number: 20160135602
Abstract: An expandable chair includes an extendable seat section which materially extends the width of the main seat section of the chair. When the width of the seat needs to be lengthened, lateral sections are provided which are rotated up from beneath the main center section of the seat and then locked adjacent to the center section. The lateral sections can be rotated down and locked beneath the center section when chair expansion is not desired. Extendable support arms, adjustable outward from the back section of the chair, are provided when the width of the seat's center section is lengthened. These support arms are located behind the back support section and are configured to be slid outward when needed. A unique rack and pinion gear system allows the support arms to be extended and locked in a plurality of lengths.

  • Patent number: 9164870
Abstract: Integrated fuzzing techniques are described. A fuzzing system may employ a container configured as a separate component that can host different target pages to implement fuzzing for an application. A hosted target file is loaded as a subcomponent of the container and parsed to recognize functionality of the application invoked by the file. In at least some embodiments, this involves building a document object model (DOM) for a browser page and determining DOM interfaces of a browser to call based on the page DOM. The container then operates to systematically invoke the recognized functionality to cause and detect failures. Additionally, the container may operate to perform iterative fuzzing with multiple test files in an automation mode. Log files may be created to describe the testing and enable both self-contained replaying of failures and coverage analysis for multiple test runs.

  • Publication number: 20150222154
Abstract: A permanent magnet for a permanent magnet electric motor is bonded to a rotor. A hole having a chamfered outer edge is formed in the permanent magnet. A corresponding mounting hole is formed in the body of the rotor. A bolt is threaded through the hole in the permanent magnet and threaded into the mounting hole of the rotor. An O-ring is positioned between the head of the bolt and the permanent magnet. The O-ring may be made of an elastomeric material which may prevent cracking of the permanent magnet as components of the electric motor expand and contract with fluctuations in temperature. A magnet may be held to a rotor by a dovetail or may include a flange to be held to the rotor by a retaining ring.

  • Publication number: 20150057371
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of on-demand, reversible generation of aqueous two-phase microdroplets core-shell microbeads, microparticle preparations comprising the core-shell microbeads, and drug delivery formulation comprising the microparticle preparations. Because these aqueous microdroplets have volumes comparable to those of cells, they provide an approach to mimicking the dynamic microcompartmentation of biomaterial that naturally occurs within the cytoplasm of cells. Hence, the present methods generate femtoliter aqueous two-phase droplets within a microfluidic oil channel using gated pressure pulses to generate individual, stationary two-phase microdroplets with a well-defined time zero for carrying out controlled and sequential phase transformations over time. Reversible phase transitions between single-phase, two-phase, and core-shell microbead states are obtained via evaporation-induced dehydration and water rehydration.

  • Publication number: 20150052014
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing updated data via an image. A sales manager system provides an advertisement image of a product for display on one of a plurality of third-party websites. A request is received for the advertisement image from a third-party system that provides a third-party website. Advertisement data is assembled, including product information, seller information, and third-party system information from information that is maintained by the sales manager system. A rendered advertisement image is rendered from the assembled data. The sales manager system also updates any maintained information thus incorporating it in any subsequent rendered advertisement image.

  • Patent number: 8944083
Abstract: A microfluidic device for generation of monodisperse droplets and initiating a chemical reaction is provided. The microfluidic device includes a first input microchannel having a first dimension and including a first phase located therein. The device also includes a second input microchannel having a second dimension and including a second phase located therein. In accordance with the present disclosure, the second dimension is different from the first dimension and the first phase is immiscible in the second phase. A microchannel junction is also present and is in communication with the first input microchannel and the second input microchannel. The device further includes an output channel in communication with the microchannel junction and set to receive a monodisperse droplet. In the present disclosure, the difference in the first dimension and the second dimension creates an interfacial tension induced force at the microchannel junction which forms the monodisperse droplet.
