  • Patent number: 11029095
Abstract: A heat exchanger (100) for an exhaust gas recirculation system includes one or more rigid tubes (103), each having one or more internal cooling fins (111) that act as heat exchange surfaces to transfer heat from a gas to the walls of the rigid tubes. The rigid tubes are cooled by a liquid coolant contained within an outer jacket (113) surrounding the tubes. The rigid tubes may be straight and smooth, and may be alternated with one or more bellows sections (108, 104) which provide flexibility to the heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 10995998
Abstract: An improved heat exchanger suitable for use as a pre-cooler in an internal combustion engine exhaust gas recirculation system includes an inner heat exchange tube for exchanging heat between a gas and a coolant. A tubular outer body surrounds at least part of the inner heat exchange tube. Coolant flows through a cavity formed between the outer surface of the inner heat exchange tube and the inner surface of the tubular outer body, cooling the gas flowing through the inner heat exchange tube. The inner heat exchange tube surrounds a rolled, cylindrically-shaped corrugated sheet of material forming a plurality of fins. At least one of the fins is in contact with an inner surface of the inner heat exchange tube. The tubular outer body surrounds two or more inner heat exchange tubes, each inner heat exchange tube surrounding a respective plurality of fins.

  • Publication number: 20160024721
Abstract: A rail junction assembly (10) for directing first and second rail vehicle wheels (42, 44) of a wheel arrangement (40) is disclosed. The rail junction assembly comprises first and second main rails (12, 14) and first and second switch rails (16, 18). A first flange receiving passage (17) is defined between the first switch rail and the first main rail. A second flange receiving passage (19) is defined between the second switch rail and the second main rail. The first flange receiving passage is configured to receive a flange (48) of the first wheel, and the second flange receiving passage is configured to receive a flange (48) of the second wheel. A wheel control arrangement (30) controls the first wheel on the first main rail when the second flange is received in the second flange receiving passage, and controls the second wheel on with the second main rail when the first flange is received in the first flange receiving passage.

  • Publication number: 20110049255
Abstract: A rail track arrangement has a rail, a sheath or shell which receives the rail and a resilient layer between the sheath and the rail. The sheath has mounting points at an upper surface of each side of the sheath, and upper side portions of the resilient layer extends laterally over the mounting points at each side of the sheath and engage with the mounting points. The upper surface mounting points for the sheath can be used for positioning of the sheath, and enable the sheath to be grouted into position in a one stage process. The mounting points enable the sheath to be installed without the rail, with high accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20040245353
Abstract: One aspect of the invention provides a rail arrangement in which a rail is releasably supported in an inner shell, and the inner shell and rail are received within an outer shell. This provides flexibility in that the design of the inner shell can be varied to provide different relative positioning of the rail with respect to the outer shell. Thus, the inner shell can be used to take account of sinking of the outer shell, which is typically cast into the rail foundations.

  • Patent number: 5285594
Abstract: A flat weed guard cover system is presented which has at least two pieces. Each separate cover has a cut-out section and one or more flaps near the cut-out section. In use, a first weed guard cover is placed around a vertical structure with the structure protruding through the cut-out section and the flaps surrounding the vertical structure. A second cover section is then placed over the first with the vertical structure again protruding through the cut-out section of the second cover and the flaps of the second cover on top of the flaps of the first cover. The flaps may be sealed together by Epoxy glue or any other suitable manner. The edges of the cover may be secured to the ground by means of landscape staples. Different geometric shapes and different positions for the cut-out are also presented. The covers inhibit growth of weeds or other plant material around the vertical structure.
