Abstract: A catalytic converter having a pair of catalytic converter members disposed in a housing. A pair of catalytic converter members is disposed within the housing along a longitudinal axis of the housing. A annular structure is disposed within the housing between the pair of catalytic converter members, such annular structure having a hollow inner region disposed along the longitudinal axis to enable exhaust gases introduced into the housing to pass from a frontal one of the pair of catalytic converter members, though the hollow region of the annular structure, to a rearward one of the pair of catalytic converter members. The annular structure terminates at a front edge and rear edge. The front edge engages a rear, outer peripheral portion of the frontal one of pair of catalytic converter members and the rear edge engages a frontal, outer peripheral portion of the rearward one of the pair of catalytic converter members.

Abstract: A system for providing hydrogen gas is provided. The system includes a hydrogen generator that produces gas from water. One or more heat generation devices are arranged to provide heating of the enclosure during different modes of operation to prevent freezing of components. A plurality of temperature sensors are arranged and coupled to a controller to selectively activate a heat source if the temperature of the component is less than a predetermined temperature.

Abstract: A regenerative fuel cell system is provided having at least one hydrogen storage container fluidly coupled to at least one hydrogen generator and at least one power generator. Each power generator further includes a fuel cell fluidly coupled to the hydrogen storage container, an electric energy storage device, and an unregulated dc bus electrically connected to said fuel cell and said electric storage device. The system further provides for a health monitoring system for determining the occurrence of critical events which may necessitate the disabling of the system.

Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for programmable determination of frequency, phase, and jitter relationship of a first clock and a second clock in an electronic system. In a first, initialization, mode, a first register and a second register are initialized with a first bit pattern and a second bit pattern, respectively. In a second, normal, mode, the first clock is coupled to the first register and the second clock is coupled to the second register. A compare unit observes the bit patterns of the first and second registers and reports when one or more predetermined relationships between the first clock and the second clock occur.

Abstract: A support seal for use with a catalytic converter having a housing, which includes an inlet end cone, an outlet end cone, and a shell forming an internal chamber, and catalytic substrate disposed within the internal chamber. The support seal has an “L” shaped cross-section including a radial portion and an axial portion, at least one portion for supporting and retaining the catalytic substrate within the internal chamber. The axial and radial portion of the “L” shaped seal can be preloaded to provide support to the substrate in the axial and radial directions.

Abstract: A method and system for improving the quality of original metadata associated with media on a computer network, such as multimedia and streaming media, includes analyzing each field of the URL of the multimedia and streaming media. Each field is analyzed to identify new metadata associated with that field. Identified new metadata is added to the original metadata. In another embodiment, the fields in the URL are reorganized in reverse order and metadata associated with a prefix of fields of the reorganized URL is added to the original metadata. In yet another embodiment, the contents of the field next to the prefix of fields is used to improve the quality of the original metadata.
