  • Patent number: 9233074
Abstract: The present invention includes pH dependent, dry film coating compositions containing calcium silicate for use on orally-ingestible substrates such as tablets and the like. The film coating compositions can be applied as an aqueous suspension either directly to a substrate or after the substrate has been coated with a subcoat. In preferred aspects, the polymer is either an enteric or reverse-enteric polymer. Methods of preparing the dry film coatings, methods of preparing corresponding aqueous suspensions, methods of applying the coatings to substrates and the coated substrates themselves are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 25, 2014
Date of Patent: January 12, 2016
    Assignee: BPSI HOLDINGS, LLC
Inventors: George Reyes, Charles R. Cunningham, Thomas P. Farrell, Cara Young

  • Patent number: 7186293
Abstract: Agglomerated starch compositions containing native starch and pre-compacted starch powder is disclosed. The agglomerated starch compositions have superior flow and less pH sensitivity than simple blends of the two components at equivalent ratios.

  • Patent number: 4826451
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly for use with a nuclear power plant pressurizer heater includes an external metal shell having a base end and a connection end with a header located internally of the shell intermediate the two ends. Connector pins extend from end to end of the shell passing through apertures in the header. About the pins there is placed a high voltage insulator such as a ceramic material extending on either side of the header. The base end of the connector is filled with an insulative reinforcement material completely surrounding the pins. The connection end is filled with a granular thermally stable insulative material and closed by connection to a heater assembly. The base end of the connector may also include an external flexible covering of insulative material to further protect the pins and reinforcement material from hydroscopic contamination.

  • Patent number: 4332401
Abstract: An insulated casing assembly for use in injecting steam into wells, comprising a plurality of interconnected casings, each casing having outer and inner tubular sections, an annular spacing between the two sections containing multilayered thermal insulation enveloped in a low conductivity gas, and tubular bellows connecting and allowing relative movement between the corresponding ends of the two inner sections. A leak-proof connection between adjacent casings includes a diffuser sleeve fitted tightly over the ends of adjacent inner tubular sections, a filler ring fitted on the diffuser sleeve and disposed between adjacent outer tubular sections, and a threaded coupling screwed onto threaded ends of outer tubular sections of adjacent casings.

  • Patent number: 4134015
Abstract: A system for locally measuring the surface reflectance and emittance of mainly opaque objects of arbitrary size, shape and curvature. The basic component is a measurement head having a radiation enclosure consisting of surfaces which are uniquely related by a set of mathematical equations relating their relative view of one another. One surface is a pair of radiation emitters. The second surface is a measurement device positioned directly adjacent a third surface which is open to accommodate the local area on an arbitrarily shaped test object. Radiant energy from the emitters is reflected from the surface of the object to the measurement device. Since the intensity of the radiant energy emitted is relatively constant the intensity of the energy incident on the measurement device is proportional to the reflectance of the surface on the object under test which wholly or partially blocks the open third surface of the radiation enclosure.
