  • Patent number: 5421489
Abstract: A system for dispensing liquid soap including a closed wall structure defining a container with a partition separating the container into a separate lower liquid soap reservoir and a separate upper refill compartment. Dispensing mechanism is carried by the container for dispensing liquid soap from the reservoir. The partition has a refill aperture therethrough providing communication for soap flow between said reservoir and the refill compartment and dimensioned to permit the free flow of liquid soap therethrough. A refill cartridge of liquid soap has an outlet, removably enclosed within the refill compartment in a refill configuration with the outlet disposed for cooperation with the refill aperture to permit the free flow of liquid soap from the refill cartridge to the reservoir thereby to refill the reservoir as liquid soap is dispensed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5209377
Abstract: A disposable refill cartridge for a liquid soap dispenser having a closed container with a bottom wall portion and a rear wall portion and two opposes side wall portions. An outlet opening is formed in a cylindrical neck extending from the bottom wall portion, as is a frustoconical portion intermediate the bottom wall and the cylindrical neck. At least one boss extends outwardly from the frustoconical portion and the cylindrical neck with two elongated recesses respectively formed in the side wall portions adjacent to the rear wall portion. Each of the recesses extends downwardly to the bottom wall portion, and the container has stepped retaining surfaces at the upper end of the rear wall portion and at the lower ends of the side wall portions. A receptacle is formed in the rear wall having an apertured end wall.

  • Patent number: 5147582
Abstract: A self-contained air freshening or deodorizing apparatus with a two-part housing including a mounting section for securing the apparatus in an operative position and a closure section for connection thereto for forming an enclosure. A battery-powered air movement generating mechanism includes a fan having a hub with a motor nested at least partially within the hub and connected thereto for rotating the fan hub and five blades mounted thereon to generate a path of air flow through the enclosure. Air freshening or deodorizing mechanism for supplying a source of vaporizable material is positioned in the path of air flow. An antibootleg device is mounted in the enclosure in such a way that removal of the device renders the motor inoperable.

  • Patent number: 5082150
Abstract: A liquid dispenser having a replaceable unvented liquid container with only an outlet opening, a discharge assembly in liquid communication with the liquid container outlet opening, and including a compressible nipple for accommodating a charge of liquid, a check valve for regulating the flow of liquid into the nipple and a semipermeable filter mounted in and substantially filling the inlet to the check valve, the filter element being permeable to air to introduce air into the liquid container through its outlet opening, the filter element being impermeable to liquid to prevent back flow of liquid through the air passageway, and having an opening therethrough which is aligned with the inlet of the check valve, defining a liquid passageway through the filter element to the check valve.

  • Patent number: 4930667
Abstract: A liquid soap dispenser having an unvented liquid soap container with only an outlet opening, a discharge assembly in fluid communication with the soap container outlet opening, and a breathing mechanism including a semipermeable filter mounted between the discharge assembly and the soap container to introduce air into the soap container immediately upon withdrawal of soap from the container to permit rapid operation of the discharge assembly.

  • Patent number: 4931224
Abstract: A battery operated air freshener with a housing having means for mounting the air freshener to a surface such as a wall. A motor inside the housing is electrically connected to a fan and to a battery. A replaceable cartridge with vents defining an air flow path carries a deodorizing substance and a battery. The replaceable cartridge having a receptacle is positioned within the housing such that the battery carried by the cartridge fits between spaced electrical contacts connected to the motor and hence to the fan resulting in air flow through the deodorizing substance. An anti-bootleg device in the housing has at least one prong extending into the cartridge receptacle, whereby a cartridge having an appropriate receptacle to receive the anti-bootleg device fits within the housing such that the battery carried by the cartridge fits between the spaced electrical contacts thereby establishing an electrical circuit to operate the fan.
