  • Patent number: 4846688
Abstract: An educational device for use in teaching writing skills to students. The device includes, in combination, a board member having a plurality of grooves therein, each of the grooves forming at least a portion of a specific character; and a tracing stylus having a staff for being held by a student and having a tracer element coupled to the staff and for extending into at least one of the grooves to follow at least one of the grooves and to guide the movement of the staff when moved properly by the student, and having a contact plate for engaging the board member when the tracer element extends into one of the grooves.

  • Patent number: 4787544
Abstract: A dancer roller apparatus for controlling tension in a sheet material as the sheet material is wound between a pair of rollers. The apparatus includes a housing having a cavity, an entrance, and an exit opening communicating into the cavity for passage of the sheet material into and out of the cavity. The cavity is provided therein with a pair of end arcuate surfaces and a guide channel which is disposed adjacent the end arcuate surfaces. An elongated movable roller is positioned in the cavity atop the sheet material for applying a tension to the sheet material between the entrance and exit openings. The roller includes end arcuate surfaces for closely fitting in the end arcuate surfaces of the housing. A first gear segment is secured to the arcuate ends of the roller, and a gear rack is movably carried in each of the guide channels for meshed relation with the first gear segment.

  • Patent number: 4633725
Abstract: A transmission range selection mechanism for use with a vehicle transmission assembly having a main gear box and an auxiliary, two-speed gear box provides control over both with a single shift lever moved through a conventional shift pattern. The shift lever is pivotally mounted to a transversely disposed shift rail which is translatable between a first and a second position. A two-position sensor is coupled to the shift rail such that one output state is generated when the shift rail is in the first position and the second output state is generated in the second position. The two-position sensor controls selection of the two gear ranges provided by the auxiliary gear box. Three main shift rails are disposed in a conventional, parallel array at right angles to the auxiliary shift rail and include three shift yokes. The outer two shift yokes include spring-biased pins disposed within shift lever receiving slots.

  • Patent number: 4586159
Abstract: A bus adaptor is a circuit which interconnects incompatible digital systems hat are asynchronous to each other, through alteration of bit order arrangement and composition, time frame, speed and shape of signals which involve data signals being superimposed with a clock signal and smoothed and vice versa. The adaptor circuit handles intersystem signals that enter and leave via separate parallel paths of one system and enter and leave via a single bidirectional path of another system.

  • Patent number: 4359142
Abstract: An impeller lubrication system provides lubrication oil flow to a transmission pocket bearing. Splash and spray lubrication oil is directed from the transmission casing to a collector region along a shaft adjacent the pocket bearing. As the shaft rotates, oil is forced axially along the shaft by an impeller fixed to the shaft. The impeller forces the oil from the collector region to the pocket bearing through a lubrication port in the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4221279
Abstract: A centrifugal lubrication system provides lubrication oil flow to a transmission pocket bearing. Splash and spray lubrication oil is directed from the transmission casing to a collector region along a shaft adjacent the pocket bearing. As the shaft rotates, theoil is centrifugally thrown from the collector region into a receiving trough defined by (a) a lubrication port extending through the shaft, and (b) an oil ring fixed to the shaft radially of the collector region at the lubrication port entrance. From the trough the oil flows through the port exit to the pocket bearing.
