  • Patent number: 5632388
Abstract: A test tube rack assembly including a test tube rack pivotally connected to a base having end support structure for allowing pivoting motion of the test tube rack with respect to a stationary base about a horizontal axis. A selectively actuable connector is affixed to at least one of the base end supports and includes a stud selectively engageable with one of a plurality stud receivers associated with the test tube rack for pivoting movement therewith. Each of the stud receivers defines a different angular position of the test tube rack with respect to the base. Preferably, a holder is disposed between the base and the test tube rack. A pair of holder end supports, comprising spring plates, have locking and alignment structure which mates with structure on the ends of the test tube rack to allow releasable, secure engagement between the holder and the rack.

  • Patent number: 4006079
Abstract: A method of oil removal wherein glass fibers are formed from melted glass, sprayed with a binder, and collected on a conveyor in a continuous process. A woven scrim of continuous glass filaments is fed from a roll to the conveyor along with the glass fibers. The scrim and fibers pass under a sizing roll which compresses the fibers into a mat, and then through a curing oven to cure the binder. The scrim-reinforced glass fiber mat is cut into lengths, such as one hundred feet or two hundred feet, and rolled into rolls for eventual use as an oil absorbent primarily to clean up oil spills from oil tankers.

  • Patent number: 3968635
Abstract: Method and apparatus for producing a coated and twisted textile product from discontinuous glass fibers that are effectively interengaged into a relatively loosely associated longitudinal sliver-like grouping. The uncoated grouping is advanced from a container, along a path, for further processing. The grouping is twisted at a location along the path of advancement of the grouping. A coating is applied to the advancing grouping by passing the grouping through a coating passageway containing coating material. The coating passageway being located at a position along the path where the grouping is relatively unaffected by the twist being applied by the twisting means, so as to promote penetration of the coating material into the interior of the grouping.

  • Patent number: 3936127
Abstract: The reflector mounting member of a lamp is provided with a receptacle formation in which the lamp bulb base is seated and retainer formations in which a pair of connector devices are seated. One or two insulated conductor cables are inserted into the connector devices to thereby pierce the insulation and establish electrical connections through the connector devices to the bulb filaments.
