Patent number: 10480644Abstract: An enhanced control system for an electronic automatic transmission enables the transmission to operate in a full neutral idle, a reverse lockout, and an inching mode. These functions improve the mileage and durability of the operation of the transmission. They also enable the inching mode for use especially in industrial applications.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2017Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: Powertrain Control Solutions, LLCInventor: Charles R. Turner

Patent number: 10259323Abstract: A vehicle having an electronic, automatic transmission incorporates a safety stop system. A position sensor or sensors are mounted onto the vehicle and are in communication with an electric controller. The electric controller in turn is operatively connected to the actuation solenoids in the hydraulic transmission. When a safety violation occurance is detected, then the electric controller either slows the speed of the vehicle or stops the vehicle through the transmission.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2016Date of Patent: April 16, 2019Assignee: Powertrain Control Solutions, LLCInventor: Charles R. Patent number: 4939986Abstract: A ventilator assembly for attachment in an opening in a partition such as a ceiling of a structure such as a dwelling. The ventilator assembly includes a housing having an elongated body portion of sufficient length to extend through insulation which may be disposed adjacent the partition. A first removable cap member having a central opening therethough is disposed on a first end of the housing and a second removable cap member is secured to a second end of the housing. The second cap member is provided with air inlet means having a grill secured thereover. In one embodiment of the invention, a filter is provided in the grill of the air inlet means and in the removable first cap member. Additionally, activated carbon filters are provided in the interior of the housing. In a second embodiment, the removable first cap member supports an electric motor and exhaust fan therein and a movable baffle is mounted in the housing adjacent the air inlet means of the second cap member.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1989Date of Patent: July 10, 1990Assignee: John C. Patent number: 4427044Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for determining the center axis of the largest solid of rotation obtainable from an irregular, elongated object such as a log or veneer block. The object is rotatably supported by two pairs of opposed wheeled supports positioned inward of the ends of the object. A motor-driven press roller maintains the object in contact with the wheeled supports and causes it to rotate thereon. The motion of the ends of the object as it rotates is used to define a locus of points at each end of the log. The centers of the largest circles which fit within these loci define the desired center axis.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1981Date of Patent: January 24, 1984Assignee: Pigott EnterprisesInventors: Irving L. Plough, David B. Puryear, Charles R. Turner

Patent number: 4304260Abstract: A valve device for a metering unit is provided with a planar sheet flexible diaphragm adapted to be formed in the area over the valve seat by placing the valve cover on the valve body with the flexible diaphragm therebetween. Means for forming the planar sheet flexible diaphragm over the valve area into an arcuate-shaped fluid channel portion are provided on the valve case.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1979Date of Patent: December 8, 1981Inventors: Charles R. Turner, Roger S. Turner

Patent number: 4261356Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling the dispensing of fluid from a source at a hydrostatic pressure involving the sequential measuring and dispensing of predetermined volumetric increments of fluid from the source of fluid during different ones of a series of time intervals. Apparatus is also provided for controlling the dispensing of fluid, including metering means for receiving a predetermined increment of fluid and for emptying the predetermined increment of fluid, conduit means for delivering fluid from a source of fluid to the metering means, and control means for actuating the metering means between a condition for receiving one predetermined increment of fluid and a condition for emptying the predetermined increment of fluid.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1978Date of Patent: April 14, 1981Assignee: Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Roger S.
