  • Publication number: 20240145960
Abstract: A substrate assembly includes a first substrate having a first surface and an oppositely facing second surface. Signal pathways are provided on the first surface. The signal pathways extend to first openings which extend inward from an edge of the substrate. First ground pathways are provided on the first surface. Each of the first ground pathways are positioned adjacent at least one of the signal pathways. The first ground pathways extend to second openings which extend inward from the edge of the substrate. Signal contacts are mounted to the first substrate. The signal contacts have first mounting surfaces which provide mechanical and electrical engagement with the first openings. Ground contacts are mounted to the first substrate. The ground contacts have second mounting surfaces which provide mechanical and electrical engagement with the second openings.

  • Publication number: 20240145968
Abstract: An electrical connector for use in an electrical connector system which controls cross talk and signal radiation. The electrical connector having a plurality of modules with mating ends and mounting ends. Signal contacts have signal mating contact receiving sections proximate the mating ends and signal circuit board mounting sections proximate the mounting ends. The signal contacts are angled relative to a plane of the mounting ends of the modules, wherein the signal mating contact receiving sections are offset from the signal circuit board mounting section. Ground contacts have ground mating contact receiving sections proximate the mating ends and ground circuit board mounting sections proximate the mounting ends. The ground contacts are angled relative to the plane of the mounting ends of the modules, wherein the ground mating contact receiving sections are offset from the ground circuit board mounting sections.

  • Publication number: 20240145995
Abstract: An electrical connector which controls cross talk and signal radiation. The electrical connector includes columns of contacts having signal contacts and ground contacts. Ground shields are positioned between the columns of contacts. The ground shields have planar members with mating ends and mounting ends. The planar members have surfaces which are configured to be electrically coupled to ground members on a mating connector. Voids are provided in the planar members. Mounting members extend from the mounting ends of the planar members. The mounting members are configured to cooperate with the ground contacts provided in the columns of contacts.

  • Publication number: 20240146003
Abstract: An electrical connector and a ground system which includes ground contacts and ground shields positioned proximate the ground contacts. The ground contacts have receiving sections, securing sections and mounting sections. The receiving sections have first engagement portions and second engagement portions. The ground shields have a nonplanar configuration, with portions of the ground shields passing between signal contacts. Surfaces of the securing sections of the ground contacts are positioned in mechanical and electrical engagement with surfaces of the ground shields, providing first ground contact areas across which ground currents may flow. The first engagement portions of the ground contacts are provided in electrical and mechanical engagement with the surfaces of the ground shields, providing second ground contact areas across which the ground currents may flow.

  • Patent number: 6076136
Abstract: A memory access system is provided for accessing a first data unit and a second data unit in a single memory access cycle. The memory access system provides at least a memory, an even address decoding circuit, an odd address decoder, and shift logic. The memory is interleaved by at least one address bus signal into an even memory bank and an odd memory bank. The even memory bank and the odd memory bank are each organized by a plurality of corresponding rows. Each one of the rows contains at least one storage location for a data unit, with one address mapped to one storage location. The even address decoding circuit decodes an address bus signal supplied to the input terminal and activates an output terminal coupled to enable the given row of the even memory bank. The odd address decoder decodes the address bus signal to activate an output terminal coupled to enable the row of the odd memory bank in which the first data unit resides.

  • Patent number: 6028756
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes topological features for weakening or otherwise modifying a blowable fuse in order to decrease the current needed to blow the fuse. This allows a decrease in the size of the circuit components which are needed to supply the current for blowing the fuse, in turn allowing compaction of the layout of the circuitry needed to blow the fuse. To this end, topological features are used to deform the shape of or otherwise modify the fuse, in turn increasing the resistance of the fuse or introducing flaws that allow the fuse to blow at a lower current.
