Patent number: 12230437Abstract: In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a method of making a composite. In some embodiments, the method includes applying an external magnetic field to a mixture composed of a plurality of magnetic materials in a container, in which the external magnetic field produces a homogenous and uniform magnetic flux in the container. In some embodiments, the method further includes solidifying the mixture to result in the growth of solvent crystals in the mixture, and subliming a solvent phase of the mixture in the container to thereby form a composite having uniformly aligned magnetic materials. In an additional embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a composite having uniformly aligned magnetic materials. In some embodiments, a majority of the magnetic materials in the composite are aligned in the same direction.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2023Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: Trustees of Dartmouth CollegeInventors: Bradley A. Patent number: 9977501Abstract: Video buttons controlling stage lights. Each of the buttons includes a video part, which displays either video or an image that previews the function that is carried out by the button when it is pressed. The buttons can be full-color buttons that show full color videos. An array of buttons can be grouped together, so that the array can operate in different modes, one of which in which the array shows an overall display, and another of which in which the array shows a single function per button. Different technologies including analog switches, touch screens, and the like can be used.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2016Date of Patent: May 22, 2018Assignee: Production Resource Group, LLCInventors: Michael Snyder, James Bornhorst, Charles Reese, Rusty Brutsche

Publication number: 20160092093Abstract: A remote-control device which allows remotely controlling parameters of a light via a console. The console actually does the controlling, but the remote-control device enables control of the light parameters by sending the information to the console. For example, the remote can be used to control preset values or to control other aspects of the console. The console may store presets associated with focus, and those presets can be changed from the remote.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2015Publication date: March 31, 2016Inventor: Charles Reese
